“I’m dying of thirst!” Well. We just might. H2O
better known as water, is the most essential, next to air, to our survival. Water truly is everywhere, still most take it for granted.
Water makes up more than two thirds of the weight of the human body, and without it, humans would die in a few days.
Water is important to the mechanics of the human body. The body cannot work without it, just as a car cannot run without gas and oil. In fact, all the cell and organ functions made up in our entire anatomy and physiology depend on water for their functioning.

Water serves as a lubricant
Water forms the base for saliva
Water forms the fluids that surround the joints.
Water regulates the body temperature, as the cooling and heating is distributed through perspiration.
Water helps to alleviate constipation by moving food through the intestinal tract and thereby eliminating waste- the best detox agent.
Regulates metabolism
Drinking eight glasses of water daily can decrease the risk of colon cancer by 45%, bladder cancer by 50% and it can potentially even reduce the risk of breast cancer. And those are just a few examples!
And you know what the best news about drinking water for health benefits is? It's virtually free! You can drink over 4,000 glasses of tap water for the price of a six-pack of your favorite cola.

Optimum amounts should be between 8-10 8 oz glasses daily. Depends on weight, sodium in your diet, etc.

Too much is bad. causes you to lose sodium balance in your tissues. the condition is called hyponatremia. And yes - that is what happened to the woman in the radio contest "hold your wee for a wii" too much water in a short time and no release. imbalance can cause irregular heartbeat, fluid in the lungs, and brain swelling puts pressure on the brain and nerves.

If you drink water - choose tap, filtered tap or bottled spring. You should NOT drink a steady supply of distilled water. This robs your body of electrolytes that are necessary. Make sure your water has naturally occuring minerals.

Cheers!

Not all water is good for you. It depends upon where you live and how you receive the water. Do you have a well, city water? What are the test results for your water company? It is a good idea to drink from 4-8 8oz glasses a day.
If your water quality is poor however, you can be contributing to future kidney stones etc. I suggest filtered water. Get a cheap water filter pitcher (2 qt) and empty it each day. You will know when it is empty that you have drunk your water quota for the day.

It's good, but too much of it isn't good. In fact, too much of anything isn't good. People say its good to drink at most 8 cups per day. If you drink too much, you can die. Because water speeds up your digestive system. And if you drink too much, it will speed up your digestive system so fast that your body won't be able to absorb the nutrients of the food you eat.

8 to 10 glasses of water a day is what I've heard. Spring water or filtered water is best. The floride in city water is NOT good for you.

It is good for you and they say 8 glasses a day but water comes in a lot of things including fruits. The point is if you are inactive you will need less than if you are active. Just stay hydrated.

Don't over do it. Drink as much as you need. Your body will tell you how much you need. For example if you are thirsty drink some water. Trust me you will know.

I try to drink two liters per day. The amount you should drink depends on your weight/BMI. If you're obese you should drink a couple of glasses more. If you perspire a lot you should drink more too.
