Yes, I believe spanking is ok. However, it should not be done in anger. It should not cause any markings. It should not be too hard, just enough to get the child's attention. It should only be used when a child is in direct defiance of you or in danger (like the child keeps running into the road). I don't believe a spanking is necessary for every infraction.

The Bible says not to spare the rod. But it also says that if you hurt a child, it's better for a millstone to be hung around your neck and you dropped into the ocean.

Do I agree with spanking?
When needed.
Though my backside sure doesn't "agree" with it.

IT HURTS!!! Of course, as they say, spankings are supposed to.

And it is better than any significant "grounding"!!

I used to think 'become a teen, be too old to be "spanked"'
Like others have discovered, being a teen just means you're better able to take the "spanking"; as a little kid all you can think about when being spanked is the hurting of your butt; as a teen, yeah, sure, it makes my butt sting but I KNOW I'll get over it too.

Spanking, yes it is a way to get attention for important issues like walking out into the middle of the street. Beating no, there is a fine line between spanking and beating that needs to not be crossed.

I totally agree. I was spanked growing up and i turned out okay. What I don't like it our government saysing you cannot discipline your child. I think if kids were spanked more oten, that crime and gangs violence would go down among other things.

First I believe in time out and if spanking is necessary, A swat on the butt only! Not leaving any lasting marks, welts or bruises!!

Yes i do...And for the people that say its wrong( I'm sure they haven't had a child scream, cry, and hit you because they didn't get what they wanted!Or do not have children at all!!) Spanking is fine, and i wish someone would tell me that i couldn't not spank my child, or look at me weird, or say something to me while i am!! Some people do go to far, but it isn't my place or anyone else's to tell them otherwise!!It isn't anyone else to judge someone on how they raise or punish their children!!!

Not for everything but for major infractions a spanking is warranted. I like to try other things but I like believe in Proverbs 22:15

Spanking in moderation is ok. Some parents go overboard, you can't spank a child over every infraction, but sometimes it needs to be done.
