No; there is no carryover on education expenses. Your 2005 1098-T shows the qualified tuition for 2005, so it is only reportable on the 2005 return.

If the amount is substantial, it might be worth amending your 2005 return.

Nope. You can only use it for the year the tuition was paid.

However, you have up to three years from the original filing due date to amend a return. You have the option to file a 1040X to amend your 2005 return to add the information from the 1098T.

No. Try amending your 2005 return, if it wasn't used in '05.
