Fresh pineapple seems to make my mouth feel really tingly and weird. Anyone know why?

Pineapple contains some digestive enzymes. You can not make jello with raw pineapple because it will digest the jello.It could also be that you are slightly allergic to the pineapple or the acid bothers you.

The acid in the pineapple breaks down protein and is used to tenderize meat as well. Since your tongue's made of meat, the same effect happens to it when you eat pineapple.

it happens because the hardest part of the piece of fruit is 2 rough 4 its natural texture so it will make your tongue itch allittle

it is the acid in it. Just like citric acid in oranges,etc.
