A yard is 3 feet so 2 yards would be 6 feet. 6 times 3.75 = 22.50

You need to say whether the material is sold by the running foot or by the square foot. Without that you will be getting the two differing answers as you are now.
I assume a store will take the width of the material into account and price it by the running foot. If that is true then 2 yards is six feet. Multiply the 6 by 3.75 and you will get $22.50 for that piece.

1 sq. yard = 9 sq ft, x 2 = 18 x 3.75, you do the math.

Assume, Linear Measurement
1 yd = 3 ft
2 yd = 6 ft
The Product of (6 ft) ($3.75 /ft) is $22.50
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If using Square Feet/Yards (Area) Measurement
1 sq yd = 9 sq ft
2 sq yd = 18 sq ft
The Product of (18 sq ft) ($3.75 /sq ft) is $67.50
