People who believe in ID are not smart. There really is no nicer way to put it. They will claim that evolution is not proven. That ID is science. That there is no way that DNA could have come from evolutionary processes.
They're wrong. Plain and simple. They will not make the mental effort to find out the facts. ID is total nonsense. Evolution is a fact. god is a fiction.

Well their pipe dream is dead since the Dover trial. I'm sure they will come up with a new scam, but for now its dead in the water. Funny how they are their own worst enemy.
To the twit above me evolution isn't a religion.
Amazing the ignorant answers by the thiestically infected. Yes macro evolution is science.

I am 41 years old and through all of my years in school (in the US) I have never been taught intelligent design.
My children are 15 and 9. They have never been taught intelligent design. They don't teach that in schools where I live. I don't understand why people keep asking this question.

I see that you corrected your spelling.
Try revue before post next time.
In order to compare the "religion of evolution" against the "religion of intelligent design" side by side.
Both being theories what harm to include all theories ?
In the real world, apart from science class, GOD RULES.
GOD so loved the world that HE gave HIMSELF >>> JESUS.
JESUS IS GOD.

no argument from me. Religion is Hypothesis.
Edit: I believe in Intelligent Design, too... but it sure isn't Science!!! ID may rise to the level of Hypothesis, but not the level of theory. It's a guess. That's all.

Well, as someone who believes in ID...maybe i can help.
ID has nothing to do with religion, we're not saying teach the God of the Bible or the God of Islam created the world, we're saying, lay out the FACTS. The facts are that it can not be proven 100% without a doubt that the Big Bang Theory is how the world was created. That's why it's called a theory. The ID theory is that SOMETHING greater MAY HAVE caused us into existence. From nothing, nothing comes. Shouldn't we give our students all the facts and encourage them to think critically for themselves? I don't know about you, but as a future teacher I fully intend on encouraging my students to think critcallly about EVERYTHING. It's not fair to give one side of a story.
I'd also like to point out that it takes as much faith if not more to believe in the Big Bang theory and evolution than it does to believe in ID.

If they want to teach that in a seperate bible class as an elective it would be fine. But if they wanted to teach that with real science then we might as well bring back alchemy and phrenology and open the floodgates to a boatload of ther pseudosciences.

Why isn't it science? It actually says nothing of God, in fact, there have been some ppl to suggest that aliens created life here on Earth bc abiogenesis is impossible.
If a scientist finds systems in our bodies which couldn't have evolved step by step, then deciding that an intelligence must have been involved at some point is reasonable.
Take blood-clotting, if it didn't work perfectly the first time, you could either bleed to death or die from a clot.

Because if they could get it past the courts and into the classroom, suddenly the "experts" would find evidence that the intelligent designer was the Christian God. They're shameless and persistent.
