Does it bother you when people criticize and ridicule you for your artwork or do you just blow them off and walk away??

No one has ever criticized my art to my face, or even within earshot. It could be I'm that intimidating (not!), that the artist is that good (definitely!), or ...? Regardless, if someone doesn't like it, that's fine. It's not on them after all, right? I don't have to think their art is all that hot either, as long as they're happy with it.

Online, well... it hasn't happened yet, so maybe I'm just lucky.

It's about me being myself, I didn't get tattooed for other people I did it for myself.
It's not that I don't care what other people think, it's about being true to yourself.

I have to take responsibilty for my own actions, and sometimes people don't understand why people get tattooed. If people stare and say a comment, I need to be responible enough, not to go to thier level. And next time when I open that door for that little old lady, maybe she won't think all tattoo people are so bad.

It doesn't bother me i just laugh it off, i had my tattoos done because i wanted them so couldn't care less what other people say , at the end of the day its me that's waking up to them every day and I'm happy i wouldn't of had them done otherwise.

I've never gotten criticism on my tattoos, unless you count the haters here in answers in the tattoo category that just spew their crap on anyone who has tattoos.

If anyone actually saw me on the street and said something to me about my tats, I'd just ignore them.

i have never had anybody criticize my tattoos to my face. i guess most people keep their rudeness to themselves. i get quite a few compliments on my tattoos but i do notice times when i definitely DO NOT get compliments and that's cool, i get it that not everybody likes tattoos. i am glad that they keep their mouths shut because i totally have a mean sarcasm streak and could probably hurt someone's feelings.

Of course it bothers me. But "great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds" (einstein). You cant let these people's opinion shake your confidence. All you need to succeed is faith in yourself.

Sorry, but I have never had that happen to me, maybe because I'm a guy. but if I did ,I would not try to defend myself, I would just ignore the comments

When people criticize you, they're just jealous... ignore them and they'll stop because they don't get enjoyment when you don't care!
