Some not so nice people in modern times were named John Wayne -- John Wayne Gacey, John Wayne Bobbitt, etc. Does that give the orginal John Wayne a bad name? Not really.
Neither do Hispanics and other cultures which use Jesus as a first name. Given the Spanish pronunciation, I doubt that some people even make the connection between "Heysus" and Jesus.

Only if Jesus was the actual name of the Nazerene described in the gospels. . but Jesus is only an Anglicized form of the Hebrew Yeshua.
Therefore, modern-day Jesus' only give themselves a bad name.

Jesus as spelled in hispanic society is not any more disrepectful than Mohammed is in muslim culture, nor anyone named Israel or Daniel or Gabriel or Muriel. The EL part of the name refers to the ancient name for the hebrew god EL.
Not sure about Elwood though...

It does not give a bad name to Christianity or anyone else. Most Christian names are given to honor a saint, so does it matter if the name is given to honor the Lord?.

No-a person is human and Christians aren't responsible for that person's behavior. The parents named the child, not the Christians as a whole !

it probably doesnt help things ... but people will despise christians anyway because their existance automatically condemns non-christians behavior ...
