Some of the Christian bible stories have elements of truth, just like all other religious texts do.
Having read more than one kind of religious texts I came to the conclusion that most of the stories are teaching or morality stories.

IN your family history, especially if you are of African decent, then you should appreciate that the stories in your family that are passed down are not just stories, they really happened. Am I right? You have learned them, believe them and cherish them as part of who you are and who your family was and how they lived. YOu would not like someone to come along and say "hey they are just that stories (which infers they are not true) and you should just ignore them". How would this make you feel...would you be a little offended?
The bible is the telling of how GOD entered in to let people know that GOD existed and that they need no longer worship of believe in something that may have created the world, but that a GOD infact did and here I AM. So the peoples began to realize, probably by GOD's suggestion, to write it all down and call it the BIBLE. Just as stories about the world, it 's peoples, Africans, Native Americans, Europeans, etc and called that book History. So learn more about the fact that the BIBLE is also a history book about the early people and their relationship with GOD. In fact they at one time could completely communicate with GOD verbally until they asked GOD to leave and let them do it all their way.

People must be ultimately scared to face the truth of what could happen to their whole life and belief system if it turns out that religion is just some guys attempts at a bed time story for his kids 5000 years ago......
just imagine if for whatever reason in 2000 years time the only written material that survived were the books on Harry Potter.......they also might start a new religion...thinking he was real....who knows ?

So, you say that ALL the stories in the Bible are LIES? Then why are facts in the Bible to be found in the histories of cultures around the Bible lands? Those foreign kings existed, battles happened, etc..
The Bible has never been prove false ONCE archaeologically, historically, geographically or scientifically.
What happened in the Bible is LIFE. Things go on today that went on in the Bible: LIFE, DEATH, LOVE, BIRTH, TREACHERY, SPIES, STARVATION..etc etc etc.
Try STUDYING the Bible instead of parroting what others say. It's hard to honestly comment on something you know little about.

The bible stories were written to teach people lessons. The lesson in each strory is always about how disobeying god is bad. Some of them are probably based on historical events but they have been exaggerated over time.
For example there might have been a person called paul bunyan but i highly doubt that if he actually existed that he was as tall as a tree.

True faith can only come as a gift of God, by revelation.
Even if all were fully explained to you how would that help?
If God has made Himself known to a person how does that help you?
You need to hear God's word to you. If you continue in His word, then you will know.
Why have things second, third, fourth and more hand when first hand is not only obtainable but the only way worth anything?
Your present knowledge, sadly, is but ignorance.
I could ask, how will you find Him if you do not seek?
How can you know, except God reveals by ...

If you "know" it, why are you questioning it? The Bible is a history book that’s supported by archaeology, and a prophetic book that has lived up to all of its claims so far. The Bible is a collection of 66 ancient books written by 40 different writers over a period of 1,600 years. The claim of divine inspiration may seem unrealistic to some, but hopefully you receive the explanation you are looking for before the grave.

people started to developed religion to explain what they could not understand. what makes Christianity better or different than any other religion that has existed. i bet that if you went back in time and told the Greeks that there was no Zeus or Poseidon they would think you were crazy. All religions will eventually come to an end. i would just think that by now as smart as we are that religion would be extinct. science is the only. people just cant come to terms that there is no after life.

You say you KNOW that bible stories are just stories...how do you KNOW?
I am assuming it is your belief..and thus it is others belief that they are true.
I used to ask people.."Why is there a God" and they would say "Because the bible says so" and I would shrug them off...because in my then agnostic thinking i thought "Well if i don't there is a God then how is a book that is supposed to be inspired by His word going to convince me?"...
It wasn't until someone showed me their true passion for God and His grace and Love that I began to believe.
I believe that the bible is the word of God....has it changed and maybe been misinterpretted with all the translations? maybe...but the journey is more about a personal relationship with God.
