How do I find websites that donate money for scholarships/ect.?

Where would I find websites/organizations that donate (like a scholarship system) to good causes? I'm going to Ecuador with my church on a missions trip and I need $1,500. Please and thank you!

I can't think of any websites, because most government grants and other foundations have very specific purposes to which the money would be put, but if you are interested in raising the money you might want to approach local stores and business that may be willing to donate a bit to your cause. Possibly you can identiy stores or businesses with an Ecuadorean link, as they might be more willing to fund your mission. You can also search on company websites to see if they have any pet causes that they are willing to support to which you can apply.

Start with your Chamber of Commerce and look up the service clubs in your community. Then find out if they will allow you to speak at a meeting. Groups like Kiwanis Club, Lions Club, Optimists Club, Soroptimist Club, Rotary Club, etc. meet regularly. The Chamber of Commerce might even let you speak at one of their meetings.

Be prepared to make your pitch brief, but explain what you want to do, the history of the project and why you need money to go. You'll need to be prepared to show you've invested in this project too, by explaining how much you are personally going to pay. And bring props - photos of past trips.

And by all means - make a pitch at your church!
