I'm fascinated by the confidence with which ordinary people dismiss the findings of science in fields which they clearly know absolutely nothing about. Do they really think their opinions are more valid than those of hundreds of thousands of scientists who have been working on these things for many years? I'd be willing to bet that they would readily concede to the greater knowledge of nuclear physicists or microchip designers or industrial chemists, but when it comes to the origin of the universe or living organisms, suddenly they think they're experts. It's very perplexing :-)

False.

I don't get it either. Then again, I have a fairly good background in biology, chemistry, archaeology, anthropology, and geology with a sprinkling of physics and astronomy.

Why is this in R&S? You're right, Big Bang theory does not describe the "creation" of the universe, only its change from a previous state to the state it was in billions of years ago that causes all matter to drift from a central point ~ where the "bang" occured. And what started it? Nobody knows. Of course a lot of people claim that their god created the Universe so this doesn't really bother them,

God is bigger than hundred of thousands of scientists! Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the Heavens and the Earth. Who created the big bang? Scientists never tell me this! This is very perplexing to me!!!!

Go back to the fundamental, study your religion, read your holy book. The answer to your question is all in your religion. Evolution theory is created by human being, science is created by human being!Human make mistakes!Human relying on assumption.Assumption is not a fact! Even if they CLAIMED to create a perfect theory sooner or later there will be other human make theory which will replace the previous theory and invention! Human make is not absolute! God creation on the other hand is sustainable and beyond replace

False. It is more than likely that we did get here by some sort of big bang. I believe that big bang was God. There is so much proof of evolution it boggles my mind that it is dismissed. I guess satan put those fossils there? Yea right!

False. The word "NEVER" is ridiculous when used by anyone when talking about the mysteries of the universe. I think it's really only acceptable to say 'We may NEVER know the truth" or "We may NEVER agree about anything"

the same time, when atheists deny every miracle and such and dismiss them as crazy. Yet it is horrible for us to not believe in some atheist theories (some theories devised by atheists have helped us get out of the Dark Ages).
