I've tried so many different recipes for Sloppy Joes, and this one is my favorite with a sweet and tangy flavor.
INGREDIENTS:
1-1 1/2 pounds ground beef
2 or 3 celery stalks, chopped
1 can tomato soup
1/2 can of water
About 3 or 4 tablespoons ketchup
About 2 or 3 tablespoons brown sugar
About 2 or 3 tablespoons vinegar
PREPARATION:
Brown ground beef and celery. Add remaining ingredients, bring to a boil, then simmer for about 10 minutes. (Add enough water to bring it to the thickness you want.) Serve on buns with sliced cheese, if desired.

These skillet burgers are similar to sloppy joes, with a tangy tomato sauce.
INGREDIENTS:
1 pound ground beef
1 cup chopped onion
1 cup chopped celery
1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
1 can (10 3/4 ounces) condensed tomato soup
dash Tabasco or other hot pepper sauce
1/2 to 1 teaspoon salt, to taste
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
PREPARATION:
Brown ground beef; add onion and celery and cook until tender. Drain off excess grease; add tomato sauce, tomato soup, hot pepper sauce, salt, and chili powder. Simmer, uncovered for 20 to 30 minutes. Spoon onto split, toasted hamburger rolls.
Makes about 8 skillet burgers.

Sloppy Joe's
1 lb Ground beef
1/2 c Chopped onion
1 c Ketchup
1 tb White vinegar
1 tb Lemon juice
1 tb Worcestershire sauce
1 t Dijon mustard
1 t Paprika
1 tb Dark brown sugar
4 Buns
Depends how your tastes are.. Dijon mustard is the best for us. And I like 1/2 t of worsteshire but must have some. It makes the difference from all the others.
Brown meat and onions until no longer pink. Be sure to
break up the meat. (I add garlic, too. One clove.)
Combine all of the liquids and add to pan. Cook,
uncovered, for about thirty minutes on low heat. It
should be thick. Serve on the buns. Enjoy! and Have Fun!
Some of us like a sharp cheddar sprinkled on top after spooned on the bun but not too much. Just a thought

As much as I love to cook from scratch, Manwich makes for the BEST sloppy joes. I recently bought some and made it for my husband. He couldn't believe how good it was, especially coming from the can. Just make sure you start with a great quality meat. I recommend using ground sirloin. And put it on something fun like onion rolls. Yummy!
