Living in New Zealand, you have to do long fligts to get anywhere!! eg to the UK its 24hrs (ok its 2 flights, but you do them with only an hour or 2 between them!)

Long haul flights usually have good entertainment....I made good use of them....I watched 8 movies on my way back to NZ!!! I don't like sleeping much on flights.
THere is music, games, tv programmes as well (if you have the personal ones...i guess it dpends on the airline).
I also bought a book and did read a bit
A lot of these longer flights are scheduled for night flying, so you could also sleep
Take your time eating...it can fill in a good half hour.
Sometimes talking to the person next to you is ok (a bit harder when they don't speak english!...or annoy you when you are sleeping!)
Have a walk around....which is good for you anyway.

5. take an exit row seat that faces the flight attendant jump seat.. and chat with the stewardes.
6. walk around the plane.

Take advantage of free drinks, have a chat to some of your neighbours and make sure you fly a good, full-service carrier that provides you with a seat back screen as entertainment. Also make sure you bring a good book and take regular strolls down the cabin when you're not having a snooze.

Read two good books, bring an MP3 player, maybe a portable DVD player with headphones, a spiral notebook and pen, and a deck of cards.

Don't "over-burden" yourself with "stuff" -- it's only 15 hours. Two books. Seriously...

I would definitely try and start conversations up with people I didnt know, and just talk to them. Hear some interesting stories. Eat, sleep, read.

If you like reading, carry some good novel and read it. Otherwise take a nap.
