the states attorneys office requested drivers license # or birth date to prosecute. all i hhave is her license plate number from florida. she rented my house for 2 1/2 months and left with out paying. if i cant find the info will they not take the case.

The license plate number should help, providing the car belonged to her. They can obtain all the information from the plate. You mention bad checks. Did you also supply them?. I'm sure you made out a Police report first. They should follow up on the case, there's no reason not to. In the future, make sure you verify the persons I.D., and mark it down. Get money up front.

You have to understand that a prosecutor will not be able to get a conviction unless they can prove that the person who is being prosecuted actually wrote the check. Unless you provide indisputable evidence as to their identity, they will not prosecute this for you.
You then need to file a civil suit against that person to recoup your losses. Then it will become your job to prove the identity of the person who wrote the check.

You MIGHT be able to get that info from the Florida DMV - assuming she had the car licensed in her name

Did you not get a lease agreement?? If you didn't that was baad. If you cannot get it from the police department, I'm gonna go w/ the other guys and say you're pretty much screwed.
