Dude you would be surprised at what can be covered up. I just had a major cover up (see my 360 page) and some of what the other answerers are saying is true. A cover up is generally much larger and darker the the original. This rule does not always apply though......I have seen black tribal incorporated into a color tattoo before that looked good. If it's old and faded, it'd be easier. If it's still quite dark, then either someone incorporated it's lines into a new piece, or you get a very large coverup that has an area of solid black big enough to cover the whole thing.

Well with the right makeup, you can cover up any tattoo.
I heard Dermablend is great for covering up certain tattoos.

A lot of celebrities have tattoos as well. I think it depends on how big the tattoo is, but it's not impossible.

Solid Black, that's a hard one. Go to your tat shop and talk with your artist. He may be able to come up with a good cover. When it's dark you can't go lighter.
