I bought a Tarot deck a few years back, just for fun. I've used it a few times, but never really got into it. I'm cleaning house right now and am thinking about selling the deck along with a lot of other stuff. But I wanted to make sure this isn't a bad idea. Will the new owner of the cards be able to use them to screw with me in any way? Will the new owner be unable to get readings that apply to him or her since I've used them?

These may be silly questions, but I just want to make sure. The readings I've done have always been very accurate, and I think there's probably something to Tarot cards and I figure I should get the opinion of more knowledgable folks first.

Nothing will happen to you but I would set the deck in it's container (box) in the freezer over night to cleanse it of your energys. Then the next owner will probably want to cleanse it as well with what ever ritual or action they deem necessary if they are going to seriously use them. After looking at some of the answers you got, I can't believe how many people who have no idea what real tarot is about answered this. It is sad.
Blessed Be.

Tarot decks are not bad. Unfortunately there are people out there who label Tarot decks as such out of ignorance and intolerance. The Tarot allows you to connect with your subconscious mind for possible paths at solving problems. Congratulations on making your own deck. That is impressive. Just by making your own deck, you have conquered a great understanding of this magnificient tool. You know what your cards mean because you created the images. The "trick" to understanding what the cards are telling you is through the symbolism of the images. I hope that makes sense. The cards are more than the name of the card or the central figure (i.e. The Devil). A lot of the meaning comes from the complete picture and the card's relationship to other cards found in the spread and/or the entire deck. The entire deck tells a story beginning with the Fool. The story is a journey from blissful ignorance to enlightenment from life experiences. People would suggest reading websites and books to understand the Tarot. Truth be told, the best way to understand is to open your mind and study each card. Write down what each one is telling you. What do you see? How does the card make you feel? After doing this for the entire deck, do a reading for yourself. You can create your own spread. Don't feel like you have to do a spread out of a book. Do what feels right to you. Many people who are really good with readings do not even do the Celtic Cross because of the limitations. After you have created your own energy, relationship, and meanings, you may want to look at other resources to enrich your own practice. Bright blessings to you.

I don't think the new owner could use the cards to "screw with you" anymore than if they bought an old radio or any other personal item from you (if you believe in that sort of thing). When the cards pass to a new owner, they would be wise to do some sort of dedication/cleansing ritual to make the cards their own, again, if they believe in that sort of thing.

I don't know much about Tarot card. I suggest looking it up on the net rather than posting a question here, especially since all you'll get here is a bunch of Christians trying to force their belief system on you.

They're just cards, you are being way superstitious and as far as accurate readings, they are very vague and come up with things that are apart of everybody's life in some way or another. Its just in the person's mind that is getting the reading where the reading fits it their life specifically.

Do not sell them, burn them completely rid yourself of this divination. God abhors anything to do with this. Even though sometimes they can read correctly, remember that Satan has control of any divination. Satan gives you some truth to trick you, so be careful and completely rid yourself of these cards. Selling them means they still have a hold on you.

Don't sell them. . .burn them or rip them in half and toss them in the garbage. Tarot cards are bad news, as are any fortune telling devices. God strictly forbids divination, and selling the deck to someone else is like selling them a bottle of poison.

When in doubt do without! How much could they ever bring you that could be worth even one moment of peace of mind? think of even the time you are using right here and now!!!
No religion needs to tell me that you have to burn them...

They are a deck of cards! A deck of card can't hurt you! You can throw them away if you want. No spells are put on people from a deck of cards! With Jesus before you no one or any thing can harm you! If I were you if you are afraid I'd throw them away and not sell them. Jesus won't let any harm come to you.

Destroy the cards. Denounce ever using them. Ask the Lord to forgive you and to keep you from all harm. Familiar spirits are very dangerous and you should never call on them.
