find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter your stats and it will tell you how many calories a day you need to maintain your weight. take 300-400calories off that number and that's how much you need to lose weight.
eat 5-6 small meals a day instead of 3 big ones.
5-8 servings of fruit and vegetables a day.
8 glasses of water a day.
4-6 times a week cardio work out for 30-50min plus light weight training.
no junk food, no sodas, no white flour (white bread, pasta, cookies, cakes etc)

Well, according to the weight calculators, a good weight for you would be about 138-140. So you aren't far off at all.
Now it depends on if you have any muscle on you or not.
If you never exercise, and you have rolls on your stomach, then you should get busy. Busy with being more active, you know, walking more, taking the steps more often instead of elevator, joining a sport. Find something that you enjoy!
Take it way easy on the fried foods.
Supervised weight training would be excellent too.
Don't get too crazy, just pay attention to what you are eating, and if you get any activity or not. A little tweak here and there and you'll feel great.
Good luck & God bless.

Your not fat by any means. Keep in mind though the standards doctors go by would make us all look like Ally McBeal. You are fine for your height and I would keep your weight right there. Also keep in mind as you get older your metabolism will slow down so you will have to be diligent on the exercising and eating right to maintain your 142-143 weight, assuming you are done growing.

Your BMI is 21.1 Healthy is between 19-25.

The PERFECT middle is 21. You are not fat. You are a girl though, and alot of girls are really light these days. If you really want to lose weight, the best way to lose weight naturally is by running and swimming. Basically any Cardio excercise.

I don't like to use the term, "fat." I think you know, deep inside, if you are healthy or not. . .which is all that matters.

Considering you're quite tall, 140ish isn't too bad. Also, muscles weigh heavier than fat!

That's pretty tall. You're DEFINITELY not overweight. Remember, muscle counts as weight, and your height matters, too. I'm a little too thin for my age and height! You're lucky! You are at a completely ideal, healthy weight.
