Is this unscriptural? Unnecessary? Or is it a legitimate profession of faith?

I'm just interested in hearing you guys' opinions.

Shibboleth -- actually pansexual means that a person is open to sex or relationships with people of any gender or sexual orientation. The term that you are referring to is "omnisexual" -- which means you will have sex with anything and everything. But of course, I didn't ask this question as an opportunity to show my vast knowledge of prefixes. *lol*

I'm clueless on the "Holy Rollers". They're the Christains in the South & Blue Mountains. I believe they are Baptised in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit ... which technically makes them "Christains". I would never do it. God does tell us that we are the Body of Christ and that the Foot cannot tell the Eye that it can work without the Eye ... so, I have to say that I'm the Eye ... and they're the Funny Bone.

Judging from what you say about yourself in your profile, I'm surprised you care. You seem to have a distinct lack of moral character, so it's very difficult to look to you as any kind of person who can evaluate the values of others.

In any case, there are so few snake handling religions in the US that it really doesn't matter, and most of them aren't professing a religion as much as they're putting on a show. They're not professing faith, they're entertainers, and they're paid for their show.

There is nothing in the Bible that encourages a religion like this, so it's impossible to classify them as either Christian, Jewish or Muslim (the three major religions of the Bible). Just because they say they're Christian doesn't mean they are.

After all, liberals say they're honest. Look at you: you are an animal rights activist, yet you forgot that human beings are in the animal kingdom, and you seek out the opinions of humans, not animals. It's very likely that you've listed all of these things in your profile to get attention, not because that's who you are. (For example, "pansexual" means that you'll have sex with anything--maple trees, plastic wrap, propane grills, hummingbirds, etc. I'd be willing to bet you have never in your life followed through on your claim.)

It is scriptural, but it has to be put in it's right context. God told Moses to pick up a snake. When Moses first saw it, he ran from it but God told him to pick it up and he was unharmed. Also, Mark 16:15-18 the Lord said, "......and they shall pick up snakes with their hands..". But did the Lord mean for Christians to run around trying to pick up snakes with their hands? No. There was a pastor in Texas who did it and his arm had to be aputated. The picking up a snakes signifies two things. One, boldness and fearlessness of a beleiver impowered by the Holy Spirit. Two, it signifies the authority that a believer will have over Satan's power.

It is very odd, and very limited in practice, but it does happen. I am attaching a video clip link from Youtube that shows one of their churches in action (5 minutes). Don't watch it if you don't like snakes. You'll see that the people seem to be in a trance -- to put it mildly.

Now if the theist who disagreed with snake handling could only see that we atheists view ALL flavors of religion as no better than the snake handlers.
So Big Deal, you've aligned yourself against churches who hold snakes. I see no difference in any of you. You're all holding the Biggest Snake of all, religion itself.

Unscriptural and unneccesary. To say nothing of completely dangerous. While I believe God will protect me, I believe it to be foolish to tempt God; something even Jesus refused to do

I refer , of course, to the temptation in the wilderness

Sad people, who imagine snakes and strychnine have something to do with morality. Only in America amongst the educationally deprived.

If I am showing my faith--That is for others to see---thus I am doing something to enhance my salvation. It is not what I do, but what God does through me that counts. God already knows my Faith so this would have to be a show. If you are showing off you are not be humble
