It is obvious that this fictitious ruse is only still perpetuated to screw money out of any one gullible, lonely , or just retarded enough to have to rely on to something that is fantasy.
At this point in history-a half educated person can see that most of the worlds problems-if not all are caused by religion.

I have read Dawkins -and please dont quote Pascals flawed wager-uneducated people I can understand -they know no better-Muslims in particular are raised to murder their only family of they don't do what they say-but why would a seemingly educated dude choose to have "faith" in something that is so obviously flawed?

Very interesting-all the pro religion peeps have said nothing as to why people believe in God-just as I thought a salient argument is impossible with someone who worships a mythical creature.

People like to feel that there is somthing bigger than them looking out for them, somthing beyond earth and space, somthing that will help them in their time of need, somthing making sure everything works out allright. Its just a way to feel sucure and safe when really no one is, people believe what they want to believe and its this very aspect that proves there can be no god, otherwise the god/s that are supposidly real wouldn't allow people to believe in them. There were books before the bible and quaran and other holly books, how do we know someone was just very good at making up stories and wrote them down told them again and again as if they were real to make people believe that they were? Then it was passed down again and again and again to the present day. This is the most likely explaination, who's to say that years from now someone will read harry potter and believe it was real? Then tell others and create a religon at which the fictional Harry Potter is god?

I believe that there is no god but the power beyond all is the elements, everything is made out of them, and everyone, they are everything, so that makes them the higher power and so for giving it a name the elements would be god. Think about it, what is what gives and takes life? Nature, it destroys and creates at random, it is in control, we just push it a bit with our actions, and as we are in ourseleves just atoms and elements we are god too and so collectively mapping the fate of the earth and all animals and all nature by worsening global warming we have set up a path to our own destruction, which is what nature is destruction and creation. think about it, it makes purfect sense.

Religion is nothing more than a ladder that man climbs to come to an understanding of life's primary question. Which is divided into four sections. 1ST - Where did I come from? 2ND - What is this place that I have been born into? 3RD - Who exactly am I? And lastly - Where am I going?
The four religions correspond to the four directions, the four seasons, the four elements & the four Archangels. If you come to an understanding of these mysteries you will no longer be subject to the birth and death cycle. God is the great mystery. People want to be winners, they don't want to settle for second place, is this not so? Be a winner and find out the answer to these questions. We are all in this together, i'm behind you 100%, give it your best shot. I have been working on these questions for 62 years. Everyone should at least give a year of their life on the answering of these questions. Good Luck & God Bless You!

The believe it because they've been brainwashed to believe it.

And Religion is a serious money-spinner, so they will continue to brainwash until the gullible, lonely, and retarded work it out, or admit that they have already worked it out.

I think a lot of religious types actually know its nonsense, but they still want to believe even though they know its nonsense.

God gives people a connection to the world and an answer for the things that ey don't quite understand. People need to feel that there is a god because it will help them face death. If they think that there is a heavan they will enter death more peacably then the thought of the moment it is over , everything about you is done.

I think its because they dont want to admit that man is really just an intelligent animal.
They want to seperate man from the animals and what better way than to say that we were made by a superhuman being?

I wonder who the ignorants really are. Could they possiblt be intelligent enough to wonder why even the most primitive civilizations KNOW that there is Someone out there who put everything in motion and has placed in people the desire to know Him? NAH! That may be asking too much from someone who believes in instant gratification and the simplicity of their own imagination.

If no-one can answer your question...could it be you're not seeking any answers or perhaps your question is not adequately stated.? I believe that belief in a god is inevitable and unbelief is simple blindness and deliberate obscurity of the intellect!

Some people need something to fill the gaps - for me I don't mind having the gaps science can't fill. I am agnostic, I appreciate there could be a God or there may not. I'll wait until I die and find out - I survive theres a God. Nothing happens but death - no God. Go google Pascal's Bet.

Seek with your whole heart and you will find the truth.
If one doesnt seek, one doesnt care. Then it doesnt matter.
The truth to be sought is the answer to the only important matter that exists, in other words, the "only" thing that does matter. Open your heart, it controls your mind. The worlds problems are caused by ingnorance. Ignorance of Gods knowledge, due to education being presented without spiritual content. I am not religious. God prefers fruits of the spirit over religious nuts. I believe in God because God has shown me the truth. The truth is like a puzzle, it only goes together one way, everything else wrong.

Then what do you believe? That the world just magically happened? The chances of not only humans developing from NOTHING, but the chance of having a male AND female human "spawn" in perfect living conditions takes a much greater deal of faith.

Maybe a half educated person can see it but maybe if they finished their education the would see the error of their ways. As for not answering why I believe in God. Ive answered this same question many times. I am saving sincere answers for those who are sincere in their enquiry. I am happy you read a book. But that is only the first step. Try reading some literature that challenges your viewpoint.
