I did that and im 12. My momma say its a major sinn for me to lie like that to my parents and it is not christian. I got a major spanking for it and had to ask forgivness and pray. Others think that is fair to do? Does God forgive me too or do He think its OK i got a butt spanken? I know he always forgive us when we mess up but my momma made a HUGE deal out of it.

1. God's mercy is endless and eternal. Learning how to ask forgiveness from God is good so you can do well with asking forgiveness to others.
2. Your parents are human. God commands that you obey your parents & tell the truth. He gave the responsibility to your Mom to teach you how to be good. If your mother did not correct you in this situation, she would be dishonoring God. "Spanking" is your mother’s way of helping you learn to be good. Other parents may have different techniques to teach children between right and wrong.
Now, you must learn that your mother is there to help you above all. When you keep secrets and tell lies, you are putting YOURSELF into danger. Sin usually starts off small. A little lie here ... a little lie there ... and soon you'll understand the proverb "Oh, the tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive" ... but what's more dangerous is there are humans who use lure children into trouble with little lies. They will convince a kid to do something wrong and insignificant ... then they'll have you do more wrong stuff ... then more ... then when you want to get out of this life style, they'll hold the string of little sins against you to trap you. Should you ever find yourself in this situation please remember that whatever the consequences, "The truth shall set you free."
The fairy tail, "Hansel & Gretel" kind of tells this story. Beware of getting used to little lies & baby sins because added up they can cause serious trouble for you.

First off, to tell a lie is a sin one of the Ten Commandments
Exodus 20:16
You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
Next, you should honor your parents,
Exodus 20:12
Honor your father and your mother: that your days may be long upon the land which the LORD your God gives you.
So it is not ok for one to tell lies no matter what!!!!!!!!
But the good news is you can be forgiven if you truly repent and seek forgiveness for your actions. This is just more than saying I’m sorry and doing the same thing all over you must TRULY REPENT to repent is to turn away so by the grace of God and Jesus shedding his blood for yours and my sins we can obtain forgiveness if we just do the simple act of repenting and ceasing from doing the sinful act in the future.

God knows we are not perfect, this is why Jesus died on the cross on our behalf, we could never be perfect enough to be like God.
God forgives, we just have to ask. We don't need to perform deeds or "earn" forgiveness. It was purchased for us with God's son Jesus' own blood.
Sin is sin in God's eyes, there is no big or small sin.
We all fall short. It is a commandment to Honor thy father and mother and is very important in the Christian walk. God's says "Spare the rod and spoil the child" and I think spanking is ok, if done out of love, to teach - not to punish or abuse or out of anger.
God is a loving father - and he forgives and love you. There is no sin to big to separate you from the Lord, just ask and receive him. And try to walk in the light.

God said in the ten commandments to honor your Father and Mother. But God will still forgive you of your sins if you ask Him to. He loves you as He died on the cross for all of our sins! I am a sinner as well! The only perfect being is God!

That you will like for her to punish you another way

And God does tell us to honor our parents and that He hates it when people lie.

I would spank you to for lying,if you were my child.Get over it and respect your parents as in the 10 commandments.You are forgiven when you ask for forgiveness.Parents who discipline their children love them.Don't lie anymore its bad character.No one trusts a liar.

I do it all the time, but I'm not christian.
Listen, God has a whole world to rule and operate. He isn't going to damn one little girl to hell or whatever for a simple lie.

Honestly is always better. Lies always come back to hurt us. Not a christian, but it's best not to lie.
It's also best if mom gets her point across without spanking, but...too late for that.
Yes, if there were a god, he'd not hold one lie against you for eternity. No worries honey.
