Im surprised our government hasnt jumped on the chance to get construction contracts and business contracts in mexico. It would be a win win if we could use americans to do construction there.

There would be less illegal immigration, immigration from Mexico would be more the people who want to be here and the type done through the proper channels. But unfortunately it remains a country in development because of selfish political interests on both sides of the border. I'd love to see the day when mexican immigration is no more extraordinary than from any part of the world, the people that immigrate to the U.S. legally mostly tend to embrace and defend the ideals of this country quite well and those that work here do so to take care of families back home, if they could do such back home in Mexico and just be given their fair share they would gladly stay home in Mexico with their families.

I think it would, for sure!

Is it likely to happen? Only if all the citizenry can effect a paradigm shift of policy throughout the federal, state and local governments AND if individuals can realize that rampant population growth kills economic growth.

If a population doubles every 25 years (over half of Mexico's population is under 25 years old), that means the government must double all services and infrastructure such as: schools, hospitals, roads, sewers, clean water supply (towers, reservoirs, pipelines, etc) courts of law, and on and on.

All they need to do is voluntarily accept a free inoculation of the new year-long birth-control med, once a year from the time they start having babies (young as 11) and watch the infrastructure catch up and the economy grow like crazy!

Mexicans will always have a power struggle, they are diverse in their cultures. They have plenty of wealth in their country from natural resources but the money is not shared in social services, agricultural development and industrial development.
The always mexicans flee or surrender rather fight for their basic rights in Mejico. Take a look at the stupidity of them with the story of Quetzalcoatl and conquered by the Spanish without a fight.

Given the historic corruption throughout the government in Mexico, I doubt this will ever happen.

Yes, if Mexico treated it's people fairly, it would benefit the rest of the continent because Mexico's poor would stop coming to the USA. Also, Mexico would be flooded with the illegal immigrants from below it. Then, maybe they would get a dose of their own medicine, for a change.
