He doesn't like to admit his mistakes. Really the only creation that he made to perfection was the cockroach. Well done on that, god, well done.

If God just zapped them and started all over again then moral of the story would be... 'Don't worry if you make a mistake, God will erase it for you and you can start all over again." It's going to totally mislead lots of people.

If God wanted to lock Satan he could easily have done that. But God wants to test his people. See who follows Satan and who follows God. If he locks Satan..well........wouldn't be worth it.

And about the 'human making dirt'..it was clay..

There are several lessons actually achieved from the story of Adam and Eve. I'm too lazy to list them now.. but you can always look them up yourself. I guess I've asnwered the main point of your quesiton.

God could have eliminated Adam and Eve all together, but would that be fair to the rest of us?

Adam and Eve willingly disobeyed God and rejected him, but does that mean everyone else that came after Adam and Eve are going to disobey God also? Well, no. God is giving the rest of humankind a chance to draw close to him. It wouldn't be fair not to, and God is just.

Suppose that your sister was playing with your mom's expensive make-up set, which you were there by her telling her not to do it. Accidently, your sister breaks the make-up set, and your mom finds out later on. Would it be fair if she grounded BOTH of you, even though you had nothing to do with it? No, I don't think so.

Your biblical acumen leads me to believe you already know the answer. Which of course begs the question, then why are you asking this, lol. Any hoo He didn't because He ran out of zapper ammo .And as luck would have it it was sunday and all the zapper shops were closed . And adam and eve went on the lam and haven't been seen since. Probably went underground. Kinda like the M.T.A scenario. It's Saturday night ,stay sober. Ciao

Interesting question, but it's pretty obvious that we don't have the whole story, and so it's hard for us to interpret from only this little episode in Genesis.

There was a lot more going on between God and Satan before creation, and it appears that the earth WAS the jail that God used to imprison Satan.

For us, he created a material existence to isolate us from his arch enemy so that we could coexist. I mean, if Satan had any influence in this world at all, do you REALLY think that democrats and republicans would be running the show? To me, that makes Satan and his minions really, really impotent. They seem to have no other tool beyond temptation to influence us, and that makes it easy for us, if you think about it.

Now about Adam and Eve...

Did you know that Adam was tasked to till the Garden before he was "cursed" to till the earth? (Genesis 2:15)

Did you know that Eve was tasked with having enough children to fill the earth before she was "cursed" with the pain of childbirth? (Genesis 1:29)

To top it off, God put trees in the garden that could have nothing but a BENEFICIAL affect on the humans if they ate. One of them "penalized" by giving them immortality, the other one ruthlessly stripped them of all stupidity by giving them knowledge!

Sounds to me like he knew in advance what would happen, and he set it up to our benefit. That's what I call thinking ahead.

The only bad thing that happened to Adam and Eve was seperation from God--disobedience, a sin against the father who had made them. For that, they died spiritually (they lost their link to their father), exactly as he had warned. They died in the only way that really mattered--they became mortal.

For those of us who believe, that's the worst thing that could have happened.

Eating the forbidden fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil is the first independent act by the human being in the Garden of Eden. Adam and Eve cannot be said to have been fully aware of the extent of their transgression because they did not yet have knowledge of good and evil. They do, however, know that God has told them explicitly not to eat of that tree. In that respect, they are like children, who may understand that certain behavior is expected but do not fully understand why.

Like any concerned parent, God wants his children to learn and accept responsibility for their actions, however painful it may be. Indeed, God has lovingly provided all the arrangements in the garden - a secure life, the edict against one tree -but also the capacity for free choice that will cause Adam and Eve to mature. He knows perfectly well where the humans are in the garden, but he asks his question, “Where are you?” to draw the story out of them and begin the process of moral development.

God becomes angry not so much at the act of disobedience but at Adams and Eve’s avoidance of responsibility. Significantly, the word SIN is not introduced into the Bible until later when Cain murders his brother, Abel. It seems that Adam and Eve’s worst transgression is their scapegoat, and the couples moral life will finally begin when they can acknowledge having done wrong (Adam says, "The woman YOU (blaming God) brough did it ... then Eve says, "The Snake made me do it". God just wants them to own up to what they did.

Eve and Adam leave their father's protective abode, as children must. God knows it is time for them to face life as adults in an imperfect world. The heartbroken parent appoints a guard at the garden's gate to prevent Eve and Adam from regressing to a childhood devoid of adult responsibilities but also to prevent himself from softening and allowing them to return.

The reader sees Eve and Adam leaving the Garden of Eden full of optimism. They are not at all the tearful, dejected couple portrayed in Renaissance art, expelled by a furious father. The first thing they do is make love and create new life. What a better is there to teach us about pleasure and responsibility, behavior and consequences, than through the knowledge that the fleeting gratification of lovemaking produces a child with whom parents share a lifelong bond?

Good news is Jesus was sent to shepard us back to God providing we have hope, faith, and love. Then we'll all have eternal life with knowledge and wisdom ... so in the end, we'll have it all.

God and Satan needed something to keep them busy. Just thinks of humans as pawns in a long complicated game of chess.

Heather .....please!
He did not zap them because an accusation was made.
Satan said god was a liar.
If God immediately zapped them all, angels and humans would think maybe Satan is right and God is trying to hide something.

God gave them a chance to repent. The devil will soon be locked up for 1000 years, then soon after comes the lake of fire for him.

They ate (assimilated or consumed knowledge) from the tree of knowledge of good and evil (Satan).

That's why God said;

Gen 3:22 And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:

We all must eat (assimilate or consume knowledge) of the tree of life (Jesus Christ), to live for ever.
