Looks like homework which means I won't be giving you your essay.
But don't worry though, the luddites who oppose stem cell research and human cloning will lose, eventually.

Adult stem cell research is very promising. Embryonic stem cell research is stalled for now because it always seems to cause tumors. Cloning could do a lot of things but that is a very slippery slope to start down. Do we want countries to try to develop a super race. Seems like that was tried before. I think it needs a lot more thought before starting. By the way, the original reason for cloning was to clone mice so they would be all the same for use in testing of drugs etc. Certainly, cloning of endangered species has some valid reason.

Stem cells saves/could potentially save lives, so why not. The children were unwanted anyway, so it's not like you are intentionally killing a person to save another's life. You are taking someone else's mistake and turning it to good fortune for someone else.
Cloning on the other hand can lead to intentionally creating people for the purpose of harvesting them, so no I don't agree with cloning.

I think stem cell research is good. As for human cloning, I think we have enough people on the planet

i'm all for the creation of body parts, vital organs and other tissues needed to save lives.
but i'm against the research leading to the creation of an artificial life form known as a clone human. it's just beyond us to create such beings. we're nowhere close to God when it comes to creation.
but then again, i'm also starting to wonder if cloning and genetic modification is the only way to sustain the human race in a world filled with disease, natural disaster, climate change, nuclear / chemical / biological warfare, street crimes, racism, religious intolerance and a host of other problems yet realised / understood.
*Sigh* I would like to say that only time will tell, but to be frank, we are reaping the bitter crops we've been sowing for the past 100 years.

I am not a doctor...but
I think the debate boils down to cloneing people to be used as spare parts...
which basically removes the essence of God from the debate and our humanity...
sure we could cure more people but at what price...when do people become people and stop becoming parts...
when does the moral compass point...why don't we just kill anyone over say 50 and use them to aid sick children
I believe it is the same moral delima that provents me from selling one of my kidneys to the highest bidder...
wouldn't that be helping people live plus but some money in my bank account
