The fiber and pectin in some fruits can help lower cholesterol. Fruits themselves contain no cholesterol. The sugars, fats and proteins in fruits, however, can be converted by the body into cholesterol.

Well there's good cholesterol & bad cholseterol and your body will always contain levels of both. However, studys show that eating fruit helps activate your B-helper cells which help destroy bad cholesterol, which may significantly lower your chances of having heart disease now or in the future

Most fruits contain no cholesterol, and drinking fresh apple juice or eating apples (2 each day) can lower your cholesterol.
But if you define olive as fruit as well, then it contains 3.8 mg cholesterol per 100 g

I didn't think it had an effect either way. It definately doesn't raise cholesterol, since it contains none.
Soluable fiber is the best way to reduce cholesterol. Fruit does contain fiber, but I'm not sure if it's soluable or not. I usually eat a high fiber cereal for breakfast to keep mine in check.
