A normal keg (which is really a "half keg" in liquor store talk) is 15.5 gallons. Thats like 180 cans of beer. A keg of normal beer (bud, miller, etc) costs about $75, and you don't refill them, you return them to get your $20 deposit back.

You don't bring a keg somewhere to get it filled. You buy the beer and pay a deposit on the keg; when it's empty, you get your deposit back. The keg belongs to the brewery.

It really doesn't matter what it costs, does it? Generally, if you buy things "in bulk" you will get a cheaper price than buying things in small quantities. Call your local "Beer Barn" for actual price quotes...
