Dear Sneaks,

A class A misdemeanor will not keep you from being employed.

Also, did you realize that you can petition the JP to expunge your record? You can. Write a letter to the judge and explain the circumstances of your charge, that you completed your probation and what you have been doing since that time (if it's good). Then, you can ask to have this removed. Your record will then be like you have never done anything to get into trouble. I suggest that you look into this since it sounds as though you have cleaned up your act. Good Luck, Girl!!

You will be fine, the only problem you could run into is if you decided a career in law-enforcement or other government sensitive work, even then it would not completely keep you out of that position, just make it more difficult to obtain.
By the way you said it happened when you were 17, private employers cannot access juvenile records.

I think so. But depending on how you got the charge may limit where you can get a job. I would not apply at any business that has to do with kids or churches.

If you apply for a job and get it and they don't ask for a crimminal check don't volenteer any info about your conviction. If you lie on the application ,if asked on it, and they find out. you'll stand a chance of getting fired. Had you told them you might not have been hired. Sort of a catch 22 situation. I would shut up about it and proove your worth to them.

The best way to make sure you can get a job is make sure that anyone that crosses you has a run of bad luck and for Gods sake DONT GET CAUGHT.

if this happened 10 years ago and you were clean since, I might cut you a break.

If this were recent, no way I'd hire you.
