My sister recently got into a church group, jehovah witness. I myself Do not agree with it, but its her choice. She wants me to go to one of her bible studies with her, does anyone have any GOOD points that I can make to them to show that she may not be in the best religion? I have been studying things about them and do not agree with them, and I want to get together some questions or ideas to leave them speechless....
Oh and by the way, they told my sister that the world will end in 2014, because God released Satan to earth for 1000 years, and they think that thats up in 2014. Someone pleez help.......

Well, first of all, Jehovah is not God the Father. Jehovah was always Jesus Christ, the Son. Jehovah was Jesus's title before he came to Earth. Check out a book by Margaret Barker called "The Great Angel: A Study of Israel's Second God." It has excellent research showing how the first Christians believed that Jesus was Jehovah (which, of course, the JW's don't believe).
You can then go to the Bible itself for more info:
Compare Exodus 3:14 with John 8:58. In Exodus, Jehovah calls himself I AM (the words Jehovah/Yahweh and "I am" are actually related in Hebrew)--and then Jesus calls himself "I am" in John. He is obviously indicating to those people that he considered himself to be one and the same with Jehovah.
Isaiah 43:11 (and 43:3) says that Jehovah is the only Savior and Isaiah 41:14 calls him the Redeemer. Now, are these terms normally applied to the Father, or to Jesus? See Luke 2:11, John 4:42, Acts 4:10-12. In these scriptures, we see that Jesus is the only Savior given. Luke 1:68 tells us that Jesus is the one who visited and redeemed his people.

If you look at your Old Testament, you will notice that the God of Israel is often referred to as LORD. This word LORD in capital letters is the English translation of the Hebrew "Adonai" or the Greek "Kyrios." Instead of repeating the sacred name "Jehovah," which was forbidden, the Hebrew editors of the Biblical text put "Adonai." Greek translators rendered this as "Kyrios." When someone mentioned "Kyrios," in the context of the Old Testament, everyone knew they were referring to Jehovah. Well, this is exactly the title that Christ's followers gave him, indicating that they equated Jesus with Jehovah. See Luke 2:11, Acts 2:36, Corinthians 8:6, and many others. They call Jesus "Kyrios" or Lord.

One of the very best indications in the Bible that Jesus was Jehovah can be found in 1 Corinthians 10:1-4. Here Paul tells us about an Old Testament story in which Moses and the people of Israel were led by the "Rock" of Israel. As Deutoronomy 32:4 says, the Rock was the LORD, Jehovah. See also Deut. 32:15, 2 Sam. 22:2, 2 Sam. 23:3, Psalm 18:46, and 62:6. If Jehovah is the Rock, then why does Paul call Christ the Rock in verse 4? Paul is saying that it was Jesus who was leading Israel through the wilderness.

I know a guy whose family converted to the Jehovah's Witnesses back in the 1990s. They were told to sell everything they owned because Christ was returning in 1994, or something like that. They did it, and then they left the JW's because Christ didn't come.

I'm not saying this because I don't like the JW's. I do. I respect them and their beliefs. I just don't think they're right on many topics. I hope the above info can give you some ideas on how to answer your sister's questions. I think the main point, and this is what their doctrine is based on, is the identity of Jehovah. Jehovah is the Son of the Most High, not God the Father himself. Jehovah is Jesus.

First of all we do not know when the end of the system things are.....so they would not have said 2014. No one knows the date but Jehovah. Jesus and Jehovah are two different people. Why would Jesus pray to himself? He wouldn't! He prayed to his Heavenly Father Jehovah God! :-) if you want more info go to our real site www.jw.org :-)

Jehovah Witnesses never mention when the world is going to end. That is because No one knows when it's going to end. You shouldn't search this up online. You should ask a Jehovah Witness to explain some things you don't understand. They will answer your questions using the bible. If you search it up in the internet, it is most likely that you are going to find hate towards the Jehovah Witnesses. You will NOT find what your looking for online. People should get to know something before they talk about it. Maybe even attend a meeting at one of the Kingdom Halls. You will find that they are actually really nice people and that they are willing to help you when you need it. But if you don't want to talk to a Jehovah's Witness or attend a meeting, there is a website called jw.org and you can find books and magazines about them. These are all from the Jehovah Witnesses. But no one is forcing you to do anything. Jehovah's Witnesses gives you a choice, if you don't want to be apart of it, you don't have too. Don't try and bring anyone down because any questions you ask, like why don't you celebrate Christmas, there is a whole article on that. I am not going to tell you how it is because I don't want to give false information. But I can say for sure about 'The world is going to end in 2014' is definitely not true. The Jehovah witnesses don't give that information because no one, not even them, knows when the world is going to end. And that 2014 thing is NOT what is taught by the Jehovah's Witnesses.

I’m sorry you think that your sister is in the wrong for learning about our creator. First of all I would like to let you know that you have either miss-understood your sister or she did not explain to you very well. You see we teach from the bible and no where in the bible it says that the world is going to end it 2014. Another thing is that when others here say that you only have to be a Jehovah’s Witness to live on paradise earth that is also incorrect. There are plenty of people on this earth that are not capable of learning the truth. Only JEHOVAH knows who will make it to the new world, only he knows peoples hearts and intentions. He does let us know how we are suppose to act and do in order to qualify, and we witnesses do just that! We take in knowledge of Jehovah and his son Jesus Christ, we preach the good news and everything we do is from bible standards, and we try our HARDEST to exalt Jehovah.

Now regarding going to the book study to leave them speechless what would your point be? How much more of a person would you be? If you go there with intentions of arguing you would not get what you want because we don’t argue over bible information. We are here to teach not to argue.. So if you don’t agree with our bible teachings then just leave Jehovah’s witnesses alone and let your sister go on with what she is doing.

I hope I answered you question. 

Jehovahs witnesses are evil. Tell your sister to run before she gets baptised. She is being mind controlled by this religion. I know a few witnesses that have committed suicide as they were unhappy and couldn't be free from these vile people. They make you think it's ok to cut off your children if they've been disfellowshipped. Your own flesh and blood and they convince you it's a loving act. They believe they are superior to the rest of the world and that non witnesses are bad. I have been to a meeting as my mam use to go and I wanted to see how it was. Well all I can say was that it was bitchier than high school. Witnesses are very judgemental and they preach that only god can judge - HYPOCRITES! It's a very sexist religion. I do not know one nice honest witness.
They are all corrupt and they break up families for their own pleasure. The elders love negative energy. The longer your sister stays with this organisation the more of your sister you will lose.

Your legitimacy as a valid question went out the window with the last two sentences. You should have left them off, otherwise we may have actually believed your story.

As for questions, these may work:

Why are JWs so against couples living together and having children outside marriage? Other religions have recognized that these rules are archaic and outdated in our modern times. They have found that it is better to accept this life style, so that the people still attend church.

Other religions have come to recognize that the evidence of Evolution is overwhelming, and that perhaps the story of Adam and Eve may just be that point when God recognized the homosapien species had evolved enough for him to become more closely involved. Why does the JWs stick to the idea of creation?

Why doesn't the Watchtower have paid professionals to lead their congregations and the organization, instead of drawing from individuals from within the congregations? Clearly, the Bible can only be fully understood by people who has received a thorough education in theology, who than pass on what knowledge their member can understand. People work hard to obtain their positions in a church and should well compensated for it.

Why do JW children have to own and read their own Bible? They cannot grasp it. Should the Watchtower do like other churches and provide Sunday Schools where the children need only learn Bible Stories, which are more easily understood by them. If they wanted to read the Bible, they would ask to.

The bible tells you to search for truth as for silver or hidden treasure. The JW tell you, you can only come to a true understanding with their literature along with the bible (well, their bible). They discourage you from doing research outside of their literature. How can you search truthfully, as the bible instructs, if you are limited in what you can use as research. Also be very cautious of quotes (look up the source in its entirety), and check all "authoritative sources." They will also warn you against all exjw that they are satanic and evil, this is untrue and only to keep you from finding out why they are no longer jw's. I do not wish to talk negative about any religion, and know many JW's. Most are good people, however, I do believe they are controlled and manipulated by their leaders. Also, some of their teachings are harmful. :(

First of all if your sisters happy with her religion than just leave it be and maybe it would be good for you to go with her on a bible study and There has been nothing said about this system ending in 2014 because no one except Jehovah knows when it is going to be

Well it sounds like there is a misscommunication since we don't say the year 2014 is when the "world will end". If you want, you should go, and listen to what they say. Then if you want to question what they have said you will be able to say "You said" and then go from there. Also consider the source. If you believe the Bible, then take one with you and compare what they have said with the Bible. Also you mentioned having been studying about us, where?? Please remember that while most everyone has an opinion/answer on most everything it doesn't mean that we are all right.

The world will not end on 2014 or whatever someone says. Nobody knows when it will happen, only Jehovah does. If you dont want to see what we believe its fine. But why stop your sister from doing something that she believes that is good ?
