how does a prayer chain work?

hello. i have a friend i wont say her name she has been going through alot lately more physcially than mentally but there are some emotional scars. I think she is getting sick and tired and i wont to make sure she is allright. Im not a deeply religious person but i have heard of the prayer chain method i dont know if its for major life-threating emergencies or simple request of caring and looking after someone who is sick physcially or mentally but to any people of God could any of you please with your deepest hearts start a prayer chain for my friend i want to make sure she is allright. The physcial strain she is suffering is serious hopefully she will be allright. I have no experience in this field nor do i know what types of prayer methods are there but will any of you start a prayer chain with me for my friend who i care deeply about. I've only seen this prayer chain work on tv once when someone was in a bad car wreck friends and family started one and 1 month later she was well

prayer chains are usually a part of a church system. where when one has a prayer request, they usually call the leader of the prayer chain, but can call any member of the chain that they know.
the leader will call a number of members of the chain, who in turn call other members of the chain, and then again, depending on how large the chain is. but each member has a set number of people to call.

there is a prayer chain, here on Y/A, when someone ask for prayer, then a large number of users will pray for your request,, and not all of them are Christian, but God hears all prayers.

We have something like this in our ladies group bible study. We ask if anyone wants to be on the "prayer chain". During the week, if one of our ladies has an urgent prayer request, she calls the first person on the prayer chain. The first person and the lady pray together about the situation. That person then calls the second person on the list, and then they pray about it. The second person calls the third person, and so on until all the people on the chain have prayed.

One of the things I really loved (I was the first name on the list) was getting a phone call from the last person and hearing her say "the prayer chain has been completed". It was so beautiful, like it had gone from our speaking into God's hands.

You obviously love your friend very much and what you have said is just such a heartfelt plea that I am sure that many prayers will be said for both of you. There isn't a formula for prayer and God would just love to hear from you in the same way that you've spoken to us. You don't need to use 'holy' words and he does understand modern day language. I'm absolutely certain he will hear the love in your prayer and if you ask it in the name of Jesus Christ, he has promised he will answer. It's not always in the way that we expect him to but there's nothing too big or too small that he can't do. God bless.
