I got a new digital thermometer today and I measured my temperature three times today at different times.
11:30am: 36.3 degrees C
6:30 pm: 36 degrees C
9:50pm: 35.8 degrees C
I got my husband to measure his temperature at 6:30 as well, his was 36.5 degrees C.
Is this possible or is my thermometer faulty? I do have an underactive thyroid so it's possible I have a low body temp, but I'm taking medication for it. It was a nice warm day today in Glasgow so I can't blame the temperature.
Any suggestions?

I measured it both under my tongue and in my armpit so it was consistent.

Hi. I think the thermometer you got might not be the most accurate ever ;-)
Although they say the normal body temp is 37 degrees C, a bit below 37 is also normal and my temperature is usually around 36.8 degrees C.
But 36.5 degrees C and below could be a reason for concern. However, as you say your thyroid's underactive and you have also used your husband as a "test subject", I think the thermometer is inaccurate.
I would suggest taking your temperature using another thermometer when you have a chance - perhaps at a friend's house or your mom's ;-)
P.S.: I agree about the weather today in Glasgow and we had a lovely sunset as well :-D

Sorry, JJ is wrong. Normal body temperature is 37 deg, but given an underactive thyroid you're OK. A temperature ABOVE 37 would be reason for concern. It might be a warm day but the outside temperature would have to be in the mid 30s to raise your core temperature.

Axillary (armpit temperatures) are lower and less reliable than core temperatures, (mouth, anal or ear canal). According to some sources normal body temperature is in the range 36.4 - 37.1 C allowing for technique your measurements are fine.

under the tongue is pretty accurate, however digital thermometers are not. Under the arm is the most INACCURATE way to take your temp.
good old fashioned "mercury" ones work the best and if you want to be really sure a rectal temp is the best!!!

Same temperature armpit and mouth? not too bl likely.
You definitely need professional help. Anybody who is worried about 1 degree needs professional help. Perhaps ten or twenty years of psychotherapy and counseling will fix this. There are some anti-anxiety and ocd drugs available, mate. how do you spell hypochondriac?

It would be best if you saw your GP because your temperature does appear low. I hope it is nothing serious.
