Mental illness stopped being considered supernatural or witch craft around the mid to late 19th century. People such as Dorthea Day worked hard to make mental institutions more than just run down places for undesireables. With increased knowledge of the human body came changes in mental health. A lot of the improvements with the mental health field is linked with the prison system during that time because often times those suffering with a mental illness were treated as prisoners.

Mental illness has existed since the beginning of the arrival of animals on the planet. It may have existed before that, but abberant behavior in non mammals is not recognized as mental illness. I have never known that mental illness was a part of the supernatural. Perhaps you can offer us the source of your statement. The evolution of all the species that have been inhabitants of this planet began 4500 million years ago which has been named the Precambrian era by paleontologists, followed by eras I will list according to the years, in descending order:
Precambrian: 4500 mya
Hadean: 4500 to 3800 mya
Archean: 3800 to 2500 mya
Proterozoic: 2500 to 543 mya
Paleozoic: 543 to 248 mya
Mesozoic: 248 to 54 mya
Phanerozoic: 54mya to present.
These eras of development have been broken down into sub eras, which I will not submit because they are too numerous.
If any of you are curious about the sub eras, you can find them at a site provided by a National Geographic publication.

I can't help but laugh when i read people's view that mental illness stopped being supernatural in bla bla bla. Come over to Africa, specifically Nigeria-where i am right now, and you would hear and personally see case of supernatural mental illnesses which can't be cured but by divine intervention.

If you mean when it stopped being seen as some kind of punishment for sin, there are still people that believe that today. Actually the common stigma attached to mental illness generally lasted until the middle 1900's.

It has not stopped being supernatural. Modern medicine and science just choose to not look at it as being possessed by demons.

Sigmund Freud is said to be the "father of psychoanalysis."
Freud and Darwin hit the scenes about the same time with their ungodly theories to upset the human mind with garbage.
Middle 1800's and early 1900's. Hitler was their offspring.
If the truth is known Freud was mentally ill and in the 1970's his theories became very questionable, just as Darwin has been for the last 20 years.
Just recently one of the most touching acknowledgments to me hit home. A study of Cerebral Palsy from the 4th month pregnancy of women found that during the 4th month the mothers were traumatized in some way. Husbands upset them with something or a very bad experience occurred.
Cerebral Palsy is an autoimmune disease and so is diabetes. My 4th month of pregnancy with my oldest daughter who became a diabetic Type I was upset with something that happened to me by my husband.
Another amazing discovery is viral attacks because viruses are mutated genetic code material. Viruses are an alien genetic life force. My daughter's pancreas was attacked by a virus.
It has been said that "Viruses are genetic material, but behind the virus is an intelligence that defies imagination. Genetic code material does not think, but behind viruses is an invisible being that thinks. In an HIV study it was found that "It is like the virus has eyes. It watches us coming, and it takes its present genetic form, its present strain of HIV, dips into the host (Human) genetic pool of tissues, extracts particular bldg. blocks of RNA and DNA and remanufactures a different code. It forms a mold of genetic bldg. blocks and replicates itself after the mold. It then stamps out different strains and is off laughing at us while we are trying to defeat something that is already dead."
Husbands - Love your wives especially during pregnancy and whatever you do while she is carrying your child do not hurt her feelings or be cruel to her in anyway. When you verbally abuse the mother, your child suffers disease because of it.
In viral attacks, it is imporant to love yourself, love others, love God and to take your peace. It is important to NOT have a fear of death, fear of dying, or fear of disease. It is important to get plenty of rest and balanced nutrition. If you have been attacked by a virus command the macrophages and killer cells of your immune system to identify the antigen flag on that virus and eat it until it is done in the name of Christ Jesus.
This group of people has been watching different diseases like genetically inherited diseases that are triggered by spirituality.
SOUNDS PRETTY SUPERNATURAL TO ME. Remember Satan's battlefield is in our minds and we need to guard our mind from STINKING THINKING.
