I get coupons in the mail at the Picture People with no sitting fees and a free 8x10 or 10x13. But the sheets are really expensive if you want more.

JC Penny's has the best pictures for the best price. I always get coupons in the mail and I never pay more than $3.99 per sheet unless I want enhancements. If you join their portrait club you never have to pay sitting fees. If you are taking a baby 6 months or younger to have their picture taken alone, you don't pay sitting fees.

It is going to depend on the studio that you go to and what specials they have. The average price at Sears used to be $14.99 a sheet I believe. I got a coupon from the hospital when my daughter was born for $3.99 sheets. I have recieved coupons after that for $4.99 and now I believe that Sears offers sheets at $7.99. They have a special where if you buy I think 8 sheets at the $7.99 price, you can get any additional sheets for $3.99. JC Penny is always putting coupons in Parents magazine for $3.99 sheets.

The private owned studios are usually alot higher. I have heard of some charging over $20.00 a sheet. I think alot has to do with the props and things like that.

Like one person said, I also get those offers from The Picture People for free sitting fee and a free sheet, but their additional sheets are pretty high. I think the last time I went they told me sheets were around $18.00.

I always go to JCPenny's with a coupon that I usually find in Parent's magazine. It is only $3.99/sheet, free 8x10, no sitting fee. However, it usually takes 2-3 weeks to get the pictures back. I have always been happy with the pictures, but I'm sure private studios do a more artistic job.

I pay the $8.99 per sheet at Sears (depending on what coupons I have after I buy 6 or 8 I can get them for $2.99/sheet). Where I live its basically Sears, Walmart (where I haven't seen great results), or private studios you can't get out of without paying about $500.

i run a popular photography business... and we have packages as low as 60$ (two poses, 10 prints) with results that way surpass the run of the mill typical sears or walmart photos....the everyday everyone has them on their walls type pictures.

8.99 is about right for those places.
