9 When the lamb opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slaughtered because of God's word and the testimony they had given about him.

10 They cried out in a loud voice, "Holy and true Master, how long before you judge and take revenge on those living on earth who shed our blood?"

11 Each of the souls was given a white robe. They were told to rest a little longer until all their coworkers, the other Christians, would be killed as they had been killed.

Who is God going to judge and take revenge for the death of his followers? It can't be the actual people cause they would be long dead by then... So how is he going to do this? Is he going to send the people who did kill them straight to Hell once they die?

I'm not sure what this passage means, can someone please explain to me with good detail what it means?

Thank you, God bless

Ahhh, the Fifth Seal...a real conundrum...or not !

In the past, Christians have been martyred. Their souls await the great judgment (when they will be avenged)...So, they ask, 'how long must we wait'?

Here's where it gets contrary...as above, many today have been taught (the heresy of 'the rapture), i.e. Christians get to magically float into heaven and watch as this speck of a planet; and all the people on it...are subjected to God's wrath.

To make a 'little detail' in Revelation go away. some men proposed, that..there will be a bunch of new converts to Christianity; who will be persecuted by 'the beast' and its army/administration.

The 'little detail' of course is : God stated..'wait, there are a bunch of Christians, on the earth, who will be slaughtered and martyred; and the judgment doesn't come until after that happens.'

And Jesus said..."there will be tribulation on the earth that has never been as bad as it will be then, and unless God shortens the number of days of that devastation; NO FLESH will survive it. But, to save some of His Christians...He will shorten the days."

I ask that you not kill the messenger!!! I don't like it either !!

I would much rather 'float into heaven, be given a beer and a box of popcorn and watch'...but, that's not what the Word says. It says..that each Chrisitan can do one of three things
1. Take the mark of the beast and be damned
2. Go into a concentration camp...think hitler and germany/poland
3 Fight and die.

These events are present and future events. These are the people who were killed for Christ's name sake , beheaded , martyr's , presently being killed in Islamic countries, Hindu countries like India. Jesus Christ said God is not the God of the dead , but of the living. Christians never die , from the moment they are born again. God shall pour his vengence upon the nations of the earth which are but men.; Tribulation, Apocolypse, etc etc.

*If you are really interested in the word of God you shoul first aquire an accurate Translation of the Bible such as King James version (not new international versions) which is NOT the word of God, for remember Satan in the garden changed only one word, changed truth into a lie. Very important to have an accurate Translation of the word of God-- the living word.

Revelation was written in signs and symbols.
That doesn't correspond with John 5:28 where it says the people are resting in the grave until judgement day.
So you can't just take one scripture and think that it what they are talking about.
It means what is written in Psalms 37:9,10,11 & 29
that one day those who killed his prophets will be dead everlastingly. Those who were persacuted will come to life.
Such as Jesus said it would be more endurable for Sodom and Gamorrah on judgement day then those religious leaders. If some of them are resurrected during judgement day and find out they were the very ones who killed Jesus?
How would they feel about that? The sorrow would be great weaping and nashing of teeth. All this in the next 1000 years during the judgement day.

These are the souls of those who were put to death for following Christ. People are still being martyred today and this will increase as the time for Christ's coming back nears. My bible translates V 11 as - They were told to wait a little longer until the number of their fellow servants and brothers who were to be killed as they had been was complete. Yours seems to imply that all Christians will be killed - not so! God will punish Satan and his followers for their death.

This isn't a hard one. Those who have died because of their faith in Christ won't be revenged until God sees that their number is full. These evil people that killed the saints and have died are in hell. But Hell is only a holding place for evil souls. As you know it too will be cast into the Lake of fire which is God's final punishment.... Jim

The souls under the altar are those saints who became believers during the tribulation period, and were martyred for their faith in Jesus. (The church has been removed from the world in Revelation 4.).

God's final White Throne Judgment takes place in Revelation 20:11-15. God's judgment at that point is the final judgment as unbelievers are sent to the Lake of Fire, and Believers are comforted.

Yes, it can be the actual inhabitants of the earth, past and present-"they" will all have "one" judgment. This scene takes place in heaven under the alter of God. The people there have been "accumulating" since the creation. God tells them to wait a while, until its all over. They will all be avenged at one time.

THE MARK OF THE BEAST yet submit to in suggestions, this confederation and worldwide cohesion could be the "MARK OF THE BEAST", as spoken of in the Bible - Revelations 13:sixteen-17. “And he causeth all, the two small and massive, rich and detrimental, unfastened and bond, to get carry of a MARK of their right hand, or of their foreheads; and that no guy could purchase and sell, save he that had the MARK, or the call of the BEAST, or the form of his call." it will be the superb deception the devil has ever poked on God’s human beings. ALL denominations will unknowingly ENTHRONE the ANTICHRIST that’s foretold in the Bible. it will be devil himself incarnate in someone called the BEAST which will lead this confederation so as that all and sundry the worldwide will worship him under the guise of united Christianity (study II Thessalonians 2:3-4). word that it develop into Lucifer’s ambition to be worshipped like God in the initiating, and to construct a much better kingdom than that of Michael, that develop into why he develop into kicked out of heaven. yet now, he would be pleasing his your best option desire in the worldwide among God’s fallen human beings - the denominationals. Revelations 13:8-9 speaks of this plot asserting, “And all that stay upon the earth shall worship him, whose names at the instant are not written in the e book of existence of the Lamb slain previously the initiating of the worldwide. If any guy have ear, permit him hear” . you notice, it’s a coming, acquaintances, and that's no comedian tale. yet here in Revelations 14:9-10 we study the penalty and punishment of people who will connect this fake cohesion: “If any guy worship the BEAST ( the “means” of Papal Roman Empire) and the image (the Ecumenical circulate of the Protestant church homes), and get carry of his MARK in his brow or in his hand, the comparable shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, it rather is poured out with out blend into the cup of indignation; and he would be tormented with hearth and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb.” we are nearing the top, acquaintances. We see those signposts in the worldwide on the instant and he or she’s waiting for God’s judgment.

Perhaps the seal is already opened and has been for a long time.
Nothing says it has to be sequential.

These verses refer to the tribulation saints, those that will be on earth during the tribulation period, will come to faith in Christ, and will be murdered for not renouncing their faith. These are people who were not raptured with born again Christians, but came to faith in Christ after the rapture of the church.
