I don't believe in the whole Jesus myth created by the roman catholic church but I do believe he existed and his true story and origin twisted and rewritten by romans so as to pass on the blame to the jews for killing this would be king. History suggests that Jesus was really a descendant of a deposed royal family, although there isn't absolute proof. In fact, it seems much of his life has been erased. By whom? The only power to be able to do that at the time was... the Roman Empire. Got any more to add?

First of all Jesus had no children to be a descendant and as far as His brothers go I'm sure that somewhere in the Jewish population are descendants of Mary and Joseph. Oh there are other historical writings (the historian Josephus [sp?]to name just one) that refer to Jesus, so He did exist and was NOT created by the Catholic church which didn't come around until after Jesus. And for the idea that Jesus was 'really a descendant of a deposed royal family...' He is a descendant of the throne of King David and Solomon =) And the last part of John says that Jesus did much more than was written but he believed that if it were all written that all the book in the world couldn't hold all the information.

There are many theories on this subject which have recently culminated in the ever popular Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown. However, one arguement not commonly known is that Jesus lived into old age and fled to Kashmir where he was known as Yuz Asaf. If this is true his bloodline can probably be found there.
Of course some say that via Joseph of Arimathea his line is in England, while others say his line is in France and is still protected from common knowledge by the descendants of the Cathars who were brutally wiped out by the Catholic church in the 1200's(?). Some escaped and there deecendants continue the job today.

The DaVinci code was just a novel. There are History book and Historical Novels. The DaVinci code was not even a historical novel.
The Dead Sea Scrolls do not mention Jesus, Mary Magdalene or Christianity.
Dan Brown took his "implications" from the Gnostic gospels. Gnostics believed the flesh including the procreative act was evil. How did they think Jesus was the Messiah and he was married and had a child??
Josh Bernstein (I assume he is a Jew) obtained a bone of one of the supposed descendants of Jesus and Mary Magdalene as Dan Brown claim.
He had it tested. The DNA was European. No Middle Eastern DNA.
The recent "documentary" on the finding in the tomb and the ossuaries prove nothing. It has been debunked not only by Christian scholars but
by Israeli scholars. The name Jesus, Mary and Joseph (in Hebrew) were no uncommon names.

He did not have a family. He was of the line of David, who in his time was a king. But Jesus was born into a humble family; that is how God intended it. Nothing has been erased. What we need to know exists in a book called the bible.
