Hiya, i'm trying to either A. lower the quality of my vob files so they will fit within my 4 gig capacity or b. (preffered) convert them to a avi or mpg format that will fit on a 4 gig dvd-r. I have 6 vob files total so joining them would be the plus there. ANy help on a freeware program or is it just something that easy and im clueless? lol. I am using nero for my burning. Thanks in advance

What you REALLY need is DVDShrink, which does exactly what it says: it shrinks DVD's down to 4.38 GB DVD size.

I'm sure you can find it using a search engine.

replica each and each document (so which you have an unique for safekeeping in case of worry.) Then take the replica you made and easily rename the document .mpg. (correct click, drop all the way down to 'rename,' spotlight document call, click lower back to eliminate blue spotlight, bypass to the tip of the prevailing document call and upload ".mpg") something you're able to do with an 'avi' you're able to do with an mpg. WMV will play it, so will GOM or VLC. A VOB is a kissing cousin to an mpg document and it incredibly is honestly converted.
