P1126 is thermostat function code caused by either a stuck partially open thermostat or engine that does not warm up properly. Mostly a bad thermostat causes this code. Other things to do coolant change and a couple of new radatior hoses while your there. Other extras check for loose cooling fan blades and clean debris out of the cooling fins of the radatior with garden hose nozzle fron the back side to the front of the car. The thermostat is special and metal gasket is only available from Nissan dealer. So are the correct hoses

P1126 Thermostat Malfunction (Stuck Open)

Possible Causes Setting Conditions
Inspect for low coolant level
Inspect for incorrect coolant mixture
Check the operation of the thermostat (it may be stuck open)


DTC P0115 not set, engine started, IAT sensor more than 14°F and ECT sensor from 14-149°F at engine startup, engine runtime over 10 minutes, and the PCM detected that the engine temperature did not reach at least 176°F under these conditions.
