two days ... or 3 billion years, who knows?

The fact is that until Eve ate of the fruit, they were eternal beings. If God said "eat of the fruit and surely you will die", that means that before that, you wouldn't die.

This is why I believe evolution and creationism can go hand in hand. Adam and Eve stayed in their little garden until evolution was complete.

We don't know how long Adam and Eve were in the Garden before they had to leave. Sadly, it doesn't seem like they were there for long. There are two clues. First, God commanded them to "be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth" (Genesis 1:28). This means they were to start having a family as soon as possible. And second, we don't read anything about the children of Adam and Eve until after they have left the Garden (Genesis 4:1-2). It takes about nine months for a human baby to develop. So they might have lived in the Garden for less than a year!

Genesis chapter 5 has Adam at 130 years old and Eve having Seth this is after they got the eviction notice from God so they had to be in the garden approx 130 years.

and if Seth was the third son of Adam and Eve then we can deduct at least 9 months of time for each kid to bring us closer to the amount of time they were allowed to live in the garden.

The scriptures do not define how long our first parents were in the Garden of Eden before their expulsion. Before the temptation and fall of man, they lived perfectly and time was as God's time, not earth's.

After eating the forbidden fruit the scriptures again do not give a timeline on how soon they were expelled from the Garden. Certain changes in earth had to occur first so my guess, along with LDS scriptures, a considerable amount of time occurred first.

I went to a Lutheran elementary, middle and high school. I was in the 3rd grade when I asked the teacher if Adam and Eve were the first people on earth...then why... were there other people in the Land of Nod...where they went to after they were thrown out of Eden? She told me not to question the Bible...or the word of God. I believe in God...I even believe in the Historical Jesus as MY Lord and Savior...yet...I cannot say that I take everything that is in the Bible literally. I do not espouse to any organized religion since there seem to be fanatics in EVERY religion. If you think about it...religion has been the cause of more wars and conflicts and deaths...than ANY disease known to man. So...to answer your question....I don't know...but I wonder if a lot that is written in the Bible is allegorical...lessons in morality. I dunno...

It was before 130 A.C. Adam was 130 when Seth was born. Cain killed Abel before that, but after Eve sinned. But no one actually knows the exact date.

--Adam was there the longest , especially because it seems he was naming the animals before or during Jehovah God's creation of Eve!

(Genesis 2:18-25) “18 And Jehovah God went on to say: “It is not good for the man to continue by himself. I am going to make a helper for him, as a complement of him.” 19 Now Jehovah God was forming from the ground every wild beast of the field and every flying creature of the heavens, and he began bringing them to the man to see what he would call each one; and whatever the man would call it, each living soul, that was its name. 20 So the man WAS CALLING(my caps) the names of all the domestic animals and of the flying creatures of the heavens and ......

.....21 Hence Jehovah God had a deep sleep fall upon the man and, while he was sleeping, he took one of his ribs and then closed up the flesh over its place............23 Then the man said: “This is at last bone of my bones And flesh of my flesh. This one will be called Woman, Because from man this one was taken............"

--INTERESTINGLY the text above says "he was calling"--then God created Eve, SO THEN their could have been the continuance of the naming after Eves' creation!

--I BELIEVE that might have been the ONLY factor of time, if she indeed helped him finish the naming!

--IT DID NOT take long for them to decide to become the rebel god & goddess(impotent) as Satan promised!
--THERE SIN was NOT like ours in which the process for us takes some time, Please note!

(James 1:14-15) “14 But each one is tried by being drawn out and enticed by his own desire. 15 Then the desire, when it has become fertile, gives birth to sin; in turn, sin, when it has been accomplished, brings forth death.”

--THEIR SINS HAD no process it was immediate, THEY could picture every CONSEQUENCE, and yet they still went on like a headstrong bull! WHY?
--THEY BELIEVED A LIE--and that ignited their already planned greed and lust for greater powers.
--All they needed was a short fused catalyst, that Satan provided, he might have seen something in them!

(Genesis 3:3-5) “. . .” 4 At this the serpent said to the woman: “YOU positively will not die. 5 For God knows that in the very day of YOUR eating from it YOUR eyes are bound to be opened and YOU are bound to be like God, KNOWING good and bad.””

--THEN THE TEXT says "CONSEQUENTLY SHE ...."
--THE DIALOGUE between Satan, Eve and the offering of the fruit to Adam seems TO MARCH very fast--IT COULD ALL have been a matter of hours!

--I DOUBT there is any way to determine an exact time period for them together!

The story is mythological. There was no Garden of Eden.

hehe...

If it took a deity 6 days to make everything, which correlates in in reality to a universe 13.5 billion years old, then I suggest that humans were in the garden for significantly less than one nanosecond.

If they were there for a long period of time and were happy why did they screw it up. They didn't want to be there in the first place, so I'm figuring it could have been the same day. As humans we are curious beings.

In the Bible there are many different types of literature. Examples of this is poetry and myths. The story of Adam and Eve is a myth. Never happened!
