womb he already has a story for you... he knows when you are going to die and all.... So that means we have no free will... God is behind all murders, all abortions, all tragic accidents.

Do you agree?

Catholics believe that from the moment of conception until natural death, each human being is endowed by God with dignity and rights.

You shall not kill. (Ex 20:13; cf. Deut 5:17)

Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you. (Jer 1:5; cf. Job 10:8-12; Ps 22:10-11)

My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately wrought in the depths of the earth. (Ps 139:15)

Early Church writings: You shall not kill the embryo by abortion and shall not cause the newborn to perish. (Didache 2, 2: SCh 248, 148; cf. Ep. Barnabae 19, 5: PG 2, 777; Ad Diognetum 5, 6: PG 2, 1173; Tertullian, Apol. 9: PL 1, 319-320)

+ Free Will +

God created man a rational being, conferring on him the dignity of a person who can initiate and control his own actions.

"God willed that man should be 'left in the hand of his own counsel,' so that he might of his own accord seek his Creator and freely attain his full and blessed perfection by cleaving to him."

I have a small child, I know and love this child with all my heart and mind. This child looks at a cookie on the table. I know this child well enough that I know she will take the cookie. The child takes the cookie. Does the child have free will or did I force the child to take the cookie?

God loves and knows us infinitely more than I know that child. Is it not reasonable that God knows what we will do and still not force our actions?

+ With love in Christ.

No, Catholics aren't getting the message of abortion wrong. Only God has the power over life and death. The blood is the life. Thou shalt not kill. Abortion is murdering the unborn. There are other alternatives if a baby is unwanted. Like adoption into a loving family.

The Bible shows that God does NOT consider human life to be precious. He kills OVER 2 million people, including babies, and that isn't counting fetuses or the number of men, women, children, and fetuses killed during the Flood or the Slaughter of the Firstborns, when we are not told how many people he killed.

The Bible clearly shows that God approves of abortion, and in many cases commands it:

The Bible approves of killing pregnant women: Genesis 38:24, Numbers 31:17

The Bible approves of abortion: 2 Kings 15:16

God approves of abortion: Hosea 13:15-16

People are not counted as persons until they are a month old: Numbers 3:15

The Bible contains directions on how to abort any pregnancy caused by adultery: Numbers 5:12-31

The Bible says that being aborted is better than living a bad life: Ecclesiastes 6:3-5, Matthew 26:24

The Bible says that a person becomes a living soul when he BREATHES the BREATH of life into his nostril (fetuses don't breathe): Genesis 2:7

Nope, I don't agree that God is behind abortion. I would like to know which scripture you are quoting, I am not familiar with it. Psalms 139: 16 speaks of God seeing "even the embryo of David in his mother's womb, and in your book all of it's parts were written." This doesn't mean that the story of our lives is in writing, it simply means that there was not a literal handwritten blueprint for the formation of David within his mother’s womb. But in David’s meditation on the making of his “kidneys,” his “bones,” and his other body parts, it seemed to him as though the development of these was according to a plan—that everything was, as it were, “down in writing.” It was as if the fertilized cell within his mother had a large room full of books with detailed instructions on how to form a human baby and these complicated instructions were passed along to each emerging cell. Thus, Science World magazine uses the metaphor of ‘each cell in a developing embryo having a complete cabinet of blueprints.’

I do believe that anyone who is against abortion has the right to be against it, but they have no right to force their beliefs on anyone else.
There is most definitely free will. There is no God behind all murders, abortions, tragic accidents, etc. These are all human problems, using their free will.

One of the commandments is Thou Shalt Not Kill. Abortion kills a baby. God knows when you are going to die. He knows every choice you will make. But he is not behind it. Satan came down to this world when Adam and Eve sinned. He has tried his best along with his army of demons. I think they ar called Legion. Abortion ends a life that could have had potential to do something great or something horrible. We all have choices to make in this life. If we do not pray for guidance, to make the right decisions, then we may make the wrong one.

I know that if a person jumps off a 10 story roof, they will probably die or wish they had.
God knows what we will choose to do or what will happen to us that we have no control over.
Our God is a God who suffers with us. God does not cause our suffering or causes us or others to to harm to us. We have a free will to choose right from wrong. We have a free will as to how we will accept what happens to us.
We have a free will to choose God or not.
This is not just a Catholic thing. It is for everyone.

No. Where does it say that man has no free will. I may know what you are going to do but I don't make you do it. The bible says "whosever WILL, may come". So you definitely have a will. You have to back up your statements with actual scripture. When Jesus sat up on the hill and looked down at Jerusalem, he cried and said, "Oh Jerusalem, how I wanted you to come to me and you would not". So again there was will involved. Be happy that God loves you and wants you to be in eternity with him but you must by your will come to him through Jesus Christ or you will not be saved.

No, the Bible states that God knows us before He forms us in the womb. He WILLS for us to live in union with Him, but also gives us the FREE WILL to choose as we wish.

God KNOWS what will happen, but if He directed our every move like puppets, we would be denied free will.

Think about it- if you were an all powerful king...would you rather have your people respect you and obey you because they loved you, or becaasue they were afraid of you???

God does not force Himself on us,....He wants us to come to Him in love, not fear.
When we give ourselves over to HIS will for our lives, we know He will love us protect us and direct us- we still have all the choices to make. We need to decide to make those decisions in light of His plan for us if we want to find happiness.

You sound very angry- I pray you learn to give yourself over to Him.

STRONGLY DISAGREE.

1. You didn't reference your incredibly loose transliteration of a non-scripture. Your point therefore is not valid.

2. There is a difference between predestination based on foreknowledge, and total predestination. This is an old debate, and long ago settled. Christianity teaches predestination based on foreknowledge. God already knows, often sadly, what choices we are going to make before we make them, but that does not indicate that we are not free to make the choice.

God does not force anybody to sin, and does not force anybody to do good. You have the choice to do good or evil. That God already knows you are going to break His heart (or not) doesn't mean He is pulling your puppet strings. You have a brain; you are in control. Act like it.
