The simplest path to God.?

Question

I'm a 16 year old fully confirmed member of the Roman Catholic Church. I've been trying to renew my relationship with God, I don't feel as close to my faith as I was when I was only a kid growing up. And I feel like I have strayed from the path. What is the simplest way for me to come back to God? (I've attended mass every Sunday of my life since birth unless I was ill and I still do, but for some reason I don't feel as close to God as I used to, sometimes I feel like he doesn't care about me or what I ask of him in my prayers)

God is a personal God. I know what you are taught, I was RC
for 35 years. But the simplest path is to read the book of John
in your Bible. The Book of John is for those who are searching.
God will reveal Himself to you because you are searching and
He knows your heart. It's amazing how He works and what He
does. I see His fingerprints all over my life even when I didn't
really know Him. Trust me, He can make Himself very real to you. God Bless You!

Dear Katt:
Your faith will be tested at times. I was at a point when I came home from the war in VietNam almost not believing. A visiting priest told me to persue my doubts. It is normal to question and feel distant from your childhood passion of faith. You are only lacking inspiration perhaps. You have much life ahead of you. Do not let your questions trouble you.
If you are hanging out with people who think they are smarter than believing in God , then you are hanging with those who would that you follow their ideas. God is a personal choice and I suggest you hold onto your belief. You have nothing to loose by believing and everything to gain. It says, that he will come in a twinkling of an eye and don't be asleep in your faith.
Your faith is like a candle you light on the altar. The light will only be there if you give it a flame. You can decide to devote your time to anything you want and the more you spend with it the more you will get out of it. There is a time you may go through that is called, (the dark night of the soul), when doubt comes in and you will question your belief or feel lost. This to shall pass. Hold onto what you have been taught, but be ready for more inspiration and guidance. Be open to the path of Rightiousness and reject what other try to talk you out of. I have searched for God since 1971 and now it is like a hobby to learn about religions and I have made conclusion to believe. I have my own concepts and it's like a puzzle. My pieces fit until I find one better. I can only share my quest with you and I have found the holy grail is right in my heart. Listen to the still small voice inside, not the ones of the world.
The voice that tells you to do good and to Love God with all your heart. That is the right voice to listen to. This is the Holy Spirit in your temple of God. The easiest way back to your faith is to turn into the wind and follow your heart. You will find it comes full circle.
Hang in there my friend and don't let go of what you have or let anyone take it away.

11 disciples lived after the crucifiction. when a man appeared to them and said he was Jesus 10 believed. One doubted and stuck his finger in the wounds to prove he was Jesus. 10 believed. One needed to seek and then he knew it was Jesus. For the ten it could have been Joe Blow from Lebanon with the latest in plastic wounds and red food color and the 10 would never have known the difference.

You, my boy are growing up. You are outgrowing childhood. Do as the master directed Be like Thomas and seek, do not follow a dead end street. Where should you seek? Ask the holy spirit and let that be your guide.

i understand completely how you feel. read this verse here: "TRUST in the Lord your God, and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknoledge Him, and he shall direct your path."
being close to God is so simple, just ask Him into your heart, and you'll feel so clean and new!
admit that your a sinner, believe that Jesus died on the cross for you sins, and confess your sins to Jesus. worship Him not only on Sundays, but every other day of the week. you don't have to go to church ever Sunday to be close to God. He won't be mad at you for not attending. scout through the Bible and pick out scriptures that catch you eye. feel close to Him and don't force yourself. know that He loves you and will forgive you for everything. --

well first of all the only real way to get close with God is building a relationship with Him. becoming intimate with Him as you would with a person you want a relationship with.by reading the word, knowing the word and applying to your life. as you are reading the word ask God to reveal everything and anything that He wants you to have knowledge of, ask for understanding, wisdom, a receptive heart, and faith. and always remember that God may not come when you want Him, but He will ALWAYS be on time. peace and God bless.

well I can only tell you what did it for me. I prayed, None stop. Over and over.
God comes too us, we just have to be patient, sincere and truly believe in him.

I read a part in the bible that says if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, god will do the rest. I told god, I had faith that size and I prayed...and eventually he came to me and it was the greatest experience in my entire life

I think the simple way to god is to read the bible and pray and do good deeds and maybe even tell people about God and when you tell people about god God you get really really close that's all and you will be as close as you want to be!!

Spend time alone with Him. Read the bible, the Psalms are great when your feeling so far away from God and alone. Pray continually and worship Him in your private time. It isn't the quickest or simplest way but it works!

Your loosing faith because you are examining the information from your own truth. Leave that silly God and find your own truth as to what God is. Spend some time in nature. Its more evolved than we are.

dont doubt god. he is there and he DOES care about you. maybee you cant see it but im sure hes been there for you. just be your self and love god. thats all he wants from you. ask your self this? are you going to church because your parents make you? or is it because you TRULY want to? if its the first choice then maybee god knows whats really going on
