You know as well as we all do that we do not agree about whether or not abortion involves killing a human being. When anti-abortionists continue to pretend not to know that, and make believe that everyone agrees with them that it's a human being, they completely undermine their own position. If you can't be honest, there's no reason for the rest of us to deal with you.

If you really believe that abortion is murder and yet you're not willing to make any honest effort at all to work with the rest of us to reduce the need for abortion, you're deciding that you'd rather have the murder continue that admit that others have a valid point. It's a completely untenable position, morally.

Ya, it is an interesting philosophy isn't it, save the trees but kill the children. I do not know the answer to your question, but it's a great question. All I know is that there is a lot of pain in the world and people need to be restored from the inside (heart, mind, spirit) out. Remember, (Ephesians 6:12) "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms."

About your question, I think you partially answered it already. Abortions because of "selfish desires," and sometimes fear; saving the whales" because of a desperate attempt to be part of some cause or purpose, everyone wants to live for a great purpose, but to truly live for purpose, we need to lay down our own desires and take up that for which we live. You can't do both.
