You know, I think that we have a lot of propaganda about how the Arabs want to destroy our way of life because they hate us . . .
Many among them have resorted to fundamentalism and extremism because they resent our constant meddling in their affairs.
We are literally in their sandbox . . . Draining their resources, in recent history capitalizing on ethnic divisions to wedge our way into their glorious fields of oil.
Do they give a sh!t if American women want to wear a string thong, lo-rise cut-offs and hot-pink lipstick?
They did not do a number on the world trade center because they don't like "freedom". They continue to harbor fringe organizations because they want to maintain their way of life, as kooky as it may seem to us.
So yes, we should "negotiate" with them, instead of giving them all or nothing ultimatums. Until we form a healthy and respectful diplomatic relationship, the trust just won't be there.

If you could control the acts of murderous individuals without war then working out problems would be an easy
choice.
I disagree with your final sentence for we are working the best plan we have. Just look at a world map. Iran is now isolated between the country of Iraq and Afghanistan.

Ya, it would be a lot easier and a lot less cost worthy to work out a peace treaty, but it's a lot harder then it seems. We are fighting to restore order and eventually have peace one day, but that's not what our enemies want. They are trying to get other countries to attack us. For peace, both parties have to be on the same page, metaphorically speaking.

If you honestly think you can work out a peace deal with Islamic fundamentalists who want nothing more than to decapitate every American 'infadel' they can find and then destroy our buildings and infrastructure, then go right ahead but I'm not sure how effective it will be. Remeber, they still beat women with broomsticks for walking outside without every part of their body covered.

In the rab world, it's never about peace. but power. Somebody will always want that power. There is probably a 1,000 factions in any Arab country wanting power at all costs. This includes groups with only 3-6 guys.

They've been trying that for awhile now. Some groups refuse to negotiate while the interests of some groups actually condradict the demands of another.
Of course there are the groups that only want to take over Iraq for themselves and can't be negotiated with.

Its imams not imans, but you are correct, peace is the only solution not more violence because Muslims dont respond to violence with peace, you will get ever more and more violence.
The harder the wind blows on a fire, the bigger the fire.
Americans will realize once they are exhausted that muslims will never ever stop defending their lands in Iraq and eventually the Americans will leave Iraq in disgrace as they did in Vietnam, Lebanon and Somalia.
America is a loud mouth, disgraceful but cowardly nation.

The only way would be for all of us to declare that we've converted to Islam. (Which will never happen.) Other than that, there is no way on earth peace can be worked out with these terrorists.
