Don't worry I am 19 and I have a Hypothyroid. My glands in my throat get swollen too. Get a ultra sound of your thyroid. But people with Hypothyroid just need to take a pill for the rest of there life, It is not bad. So do not worry, They once told me I had a brain tumor and i might die, then the MRI came back negative. I went a week thinking I was dieing for nothing. So do not stress , It may just be a Hypothyroid. Please talk to you doctor, and I hope you find out what is wrong soon. Good luck!!

You Will Be Fine There Is Going To Be A Lump In Your Throat When You Get A Cold Or Meds Need To Be Adjusted With Thyroid. No. You More Than Likely Will NOT Need Surgery The Lump Is Called A (Goiter). Yes, unfortunately, a child can get thyroid cancer. It is a rare cancer in children, but my daughter was diagnosed at the age of 14 with thyroid cancer, and she is now 15. Thyroid cancer has a high survival rate, especially in children. It is a treatable disease when caught and treated early. Have your mom or dad take you to your doctor for a "neck check". Your doctor will know whether there is a reason to be alarmed or not. But, don't worry, many many times lumps ARE NOT cancer. It is just always smart to have them checked. Good luck!

There can be many causes for a lump. A simple infection will cause a swollen lymph node. A swollen thyroid is a goiter and in most cases not cancerous. Go see a doctor.

Sweetie, tell mom and go to the doctor. This doesn't mean you have cancer. It means you probably have an infection and a swollen gland/s. This can be caused by allergies or a throat infection. Anyone of any age can get cancer. The only way to know for sure is to tell your parents and go get your thyroid checked by a doctor. Make sure to tell the doctor what you found and what you fear.
