Help what? If you mean help to win a war, I don't think God would help our leaders kill his children. Help lower taxes, the money belongs to our government anyway, not God. Help them to have good heath? Good and bad health both serve an equal (learning) purpose. I can't think of anything else we may pray for. Bottom line , praying for our leaders probably has no effect, other than to make us feel better and more righteous.

Praying is pretty personal. I don't happen to think that one can pray for "anything specific". I believe that you should pray for yourself to accept what happens, and to act in such ways as to influence things that will happen.
For me to pray for someone else to do something is most likely going to be fruitless. If I pray that you give me a call tonight, it is very unlikely to happen, unless it was likely to happen even without the prayer. Same with Bush, praying that he will finally see the error of his way in many aspects of our world, is very slim, as he has no inclination to change his mind, no matter what the facts show.
Praying is for you, and for your mother and father, as they may be proud of you for following in their footsteps.
I prefer to simply talk with Dog, and see if it helps me to see and accept things more clearly. I also can't accept that I know more that the rest of the world and should be the one to convince Dog to do something in particular.
I do hope that this answer at least doesn't hurt your outlook.

Yes. Pray changes everything. Including the one praying. When you pray for our leaders God blesses that. Also, one can't be bitter toward soneone you pray for.

According to the bible in Daniel 2:44 God will destroy all goverments and Jesus are going to be the ruler of the earth (revelation 5:10) remember that all goverments belongs to Satan (1 John 5:19) remember that satan offer all kingdom to Jesus in one of the temptation so we must respect them because the are authority the bible command it we must pay our taxes but they are going to be subtitute for The God´s Kingdom remember the model pray.

Depends on to whom you are praying and who you are. If you pray to a rock... nothing. If you pray to a dead god... nothing. If you pray to a dead person... nothing. If you pray to God through His Son... with authority... then yes. It helps and is expected of us.
