Illegal aliens you mean? 'Undocumented immigrants' makes me gag. It is about space and funding for our schools for our own children whose programs are being cut to fund ESL programs for millions who wouldn't be here if their parents hadn't come illegaly. It is an ongoing cost and the cost of our children's future is too big a price to pay.

It isn't about a piece of paper, but about permision, our choice who comes, and numbers multiplied by costs and impacts.

As to your question, I don't think we even get there until we have true border security and citizen enforcement clauses to enforcement, and a visa exit tracking program that works. We have to solve the influx, first.

The correct term is illegal immigrant or illegal alien. I don't use the pc term "undocumented worker."

The United States government must do the following before putting illegal aliens on “a path to citizenship.”

a) Provide funding to build a fence along the entire US/Mexican border; this is essential.
b) End the practice of giving US citizenship to the children of illegal aliens.
c) Make it a felony punishable by a minimum of 90 days in prison to be in the US illegally.
d) Keep the National Guard on border patrol duty and let them interdict intruders.
e) Pass The Nuclear Family Priority Act by Phil Gingrey (R-GA), HR 938, which would reduce chain immigration.
f) Stop providing social services to those who are in this country illegally.
g) Mexico must be charged for the cost of incarceration of its citizens.
h) End the practice of dual citizenship. You are an American, or you are not!
i) English must be made the National Language.
j) All US police officers must determine the citizenship of those who they arrest.

In order to gain US citizenship the illegal alien must:
a) pay a fee of $10,000,
b) demonstrate fluency in the English language,
c) have a high school education with a 3.0 or better grade point average, or be a student with a 3.0 or better GPA,
d) must pass a background check and have committed no more than 2 felonies, and must never have belonged to a Hispanic supremacist group that advocates the return of the southwestern US states to Mexico,
e) must give up citizenship in their native country.

This is easy!

The 'siren song' of easy entry into the workforce is what attracts illegal immigrants.

If the FBI and INS crack down on ALL illegal employers and confiscate all money and assets (as in RICO) that are generated using even 1% illegal labor, the situation can be ended within eighteen months.

Development assistance to Mexico, Central American and South American countries would be a good idea, too. I think half of the confiscated sales and assets would be a good start on doing that.

No, i do no longer understand any in my view. human beings do no longer walk as much as me and say "hi i'm an unlawful alien." I artwork in universities and that they do no longer hire illegals to instruct training. they might get professors from different international locations yet those human beings get visas and are not right here illegally. There are some Mexican adult men who cut back flora and clean the food market on my block, that's owned by ability of a few Asians. i think they're all unlawful (no receipts ever given) yet i do no longer ask--as though they might tell me besides. right here i do no longer see any Mexican women human beings working--there become a piece of writing this month in the paper approximately unlawful Mexican workers (adult men) in the eating places. they're busboys and dishwashers. regrettably, they're generally victims of muggings--this become the purpose of the object. human beings understand what time they get off artwork and understand they gets a commission in funds and wait and leap them. even however i do no longer approve of unlawful immigration it rather is gloomy that they are victims of attack and muggings. The criminals who do that are pathetic. They understand they are going to get away with it because of the fact the unlawful extraterrestrial beings won't report them because of the fact they gained't pass close to the police or any regulation enforcement because of the fact that they're right here illegally and should no longer be working.

Your implicit assumption is that the United States wants to stem the flow of undocumented immigrants. I believe this to be incorrect. Undocumented workers form the backbone of many, many businesses in the United States. These workers can be more easily exploited which pleases the capitalists to no end.

If a successful plan emerged, powerful business interests would need to reduce services at their hotels and restaurants in many areas of the United States because of the labor shortage.

My hunch is that we will have leaky borders as long as wealthy businesses can make more money.

I believe that we could stop workers from working if we had adequate enforcement against the employers. If the undocumented immigrants cannot find work, they will return to a place where they can. Let's just liberalize our work laws and be done with it so that our teenagers are not tempted by the onerous work of sweat shops.

Let's face it, undocumented workers add much more to our economy than they take away in benefits. Please stop listening to the slick lies of conservatives like Rush Limbaugh.

The problem is the companies that hire illegals at a fraction of our wages. It is already illegal to hire undocumented workers. All we need is one additional law stating that anyone hired (regardless of immigration status) must have the same salary and benefits for that particular job. Add that a violation of this law is $1 million per violation per day.

By doing that, you remove ANY incentive for ANYONE to hire illegals.

Enforcing the existing laws would be a refreshing change...... Deportation through attrition is the only sane outcome. Once you start fining and jailing employers of illegals, the jobs will dry up and back they'll go. A good kick start would be an end to catch and release, if an illegal comes to the attention to law enforcement, back they go, no ifs ands or buts......

Land mines at the US Mexican border...

Post signs in Spanish with a warning. Then it will be their own fault if they choose to ignore the warning.

Then let's see how sharp the drop of illegals is...and you'll get to KEEP YOUR TAX MONEY IN YOUR POCKET!!

Well, unfortunately they cost all us a huge amount $....so how do you get people to come forward...without a $ incentive...

...Maybe a little money now, as for as an incentive token amount, might be more successful!

but thinking a $10.00 /hr person will come forward and pay a 3,000 --$10,000penalty is unrealistic.

...I think we should offer them a Carrot!
