I would think it would depend on whether you feel comfortable with foul words in your mind. If you are in the habit of swearing and are trying to quit, those words will continue to form in your mind unbidden before you can block them out. That is not a sin...temptation isn't a sin until you yield. God understands your struggle and would not be offended. On the other hand, since God reads your thoughts, it doesn't matter whether you voice them or not...he still "hears" them. It isn't just what comes out of our mouths that is sin, it's what's in our hearts (minds) first of all. As the Bible says, "Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. " In Matthew it is recorded that Jesus said that although the law forbids adultery, if a man even lusts after a woman in his mind, he is guilty of adultery. And if we hate a person we are as guilty in God's sight as if we murdered him. In other words, we need to let God make the inside clean and then we won't have to worry about the inside "leaking" to the outside in wrong words and actions.

Yes, you should because God knows what's in our heart and in your mind. We are told to love God with all of our hearts, our minds, and our souls. So when we sin with our mind..it is no different to God then if we sin with our mouth or our actions.

St. Paul says that if you even look at a woman in lust you have committed adultery. So obviously what we think is just as bad as what we do.

Of course.
Matthew 5:28
But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

Matthew 15:19
For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander.

... Even when you think immoral, then you are already committing it. Not to say that everyone in this world doesn't commit this sin in one way or another but that doesn't mean that you shouldn't try your hardest to refrain from it. God knows when your trying to make him proud and he will bless you for it.

Mark 7: 20,21,22,23
"And Jesus said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man.
For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,
Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness.
All these evil things come from within, and defile the man."

Who stated that curse words are bad?...Society has. Tell me what curse words will condemn you to hell?...The Bible states not to take the Lords name in vain (Blasphemous against God)

but what words are wrong....the words where made by man, so why?

Edit: sdr35hw
That is True: but tell me where does it state that the man made words are against God. Words are words, it is how you use them that make them unclean. I'm not talking about thoughts of lust or thoughts of hurting anyone. I'm talking about straight out curse words.

19This then is how we know that we belong to the truth, and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence 20whenever our hearts condemn us. For God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything

For Michelle
Matthew 15:11
What goes into a man's mouth does not make him 'unclean,' but what comes out of his mouth, that is what makes him 'unclean.'
