Planned Parenthood receives almost a third of its money in government grants and contracts ($272.7 million in FY 2005). It received $346.8 million in clinic income that year, $215.8 million in private contributions and bequests, $40.4 million in other income and $6.3 million from the Alan Guttmacher Institute for a total of $882 million.
Some pro-life organizations which morally disagree with Planned Parenthood's mission and services have set up campaigns and petitions to stop Planned Parenthood from receiving government funding.

thats a very good point. how ever any impression i ever got was that abortions are to be paid for by the person who is haveing it. the goverment donated money to places like planned parenthood for things like education protection and exams. the actuall abortion cost about 300 dollars. and the other sevices are only avalible free to women under the age of 18 and they are not alowed to get abortions with out parental consent. any one over 18 gets discounted health care for exams and protection but it's done on an income basis. they also take most insurance plans as well. i would be really interested to know where you heard that abortions are being done with tax dollars. if you could get me a web page i would be very grateful.

Very little of your money is being spent on abortions. Go talk to an abortion clinic and you will find out that most all are paid for by the patient themselves.

The government uses my tax dollars to do a lot of things I don't agree with, like giving away money to foreign countries.

In your logic, then Senate definitely has a right to stop funding Bush's egotistical oppression of the Iraqi people because it's my tax money. You should get your priorities straight; how can you be pro-life if you support the killing of innocent people on both sides of the war?

And by the way, I love Trinity's pro-life organization's motto. "Hey we'll help you be a single mom until your baby is 4 and REALLY needs monetary support, so you should have the baby so I can feel better about myself."

do you EVER stop whining? did you know that abortion is not ALL that PPH offers? they also offer birth control, adoption counseling, sex education, pregnancy/STD testing as well as other services.

and Trinity, you're a dumbass. the primitive heart DOES NOT start beating at 10 days. it's more like 4 weeks, which is 28 days. i wonder what other lies your organization tells poor women.

That is why the government needs to play a more minimal role in these matters. They should not pay for abortions, but they should not ban them, because if it is not coming from your tax dollars, it is none of your business.

If you don't like something the government is doing with your tax money, then don't pay all your taxes.

That's what some people who are against the war are doing.

Just don't be surprised when you get in trouble with the IRS.

If you are against abortion, don't have one.

Odd. I'm Dutch, currently living in Romania with my girlfriend.

When she might need an abortion in some future, I will try to remember to send you a thank-you note for paying taxes, ok ?

It is your business! I work at Loving Arms, which is a volunteer christian organization who counsel women on abortion and show them the truth. We also give them baby clothes and diapers and anything they need for free up until there baby is around 4 and in some circumstances older.

Abortion is killing innocent lives. A baby's heart beat starts at only 10 DAYS old. The baby is NOT just tissue, it is living. Unlike what schools and abortion clinics teach. There are so many people that need to know that there are other options than abortion.

Adoption, which is very simple now a days. You can even choose to see your baby and be part of there life, receiving videos and pictures and even attend birthdays and more.

It is not fair that people have to pay for other peoples bad decisions. And much less pay for killing an innocent life. I don't want to see my tax money going to murder a unborn child.
