If this person has hepatitis B, C or D. You also have to have some form intimate contact with this person (e.g. blood transfusion, needle stick with their blood, sexual intercourse).
Cirrhosis just means that this person's liver is burnt out. This could be from any chronic inflammation of the liver (which would include the hepatides mentioned above. However, chronic inflammation through non-infectious diseases such as alcoholism and autoimmune disease can burn out a liver.
Hepatitis A, is usually never chronic. It is acquired typically through consuming things like raw seafood and vegetables (e.g. Chi Chi's scallions), which have been contaminated with fecal material of individuals with Hepatitis A.

What is the cause of the cirrohsis?
Hepatitis is an inflammatory infection of the liver specific to a starin of viruses with 5+ variations. If the liver failure is being cause by a hepatitis infection then there could be a chance it could be spread. (different types have different routes of infection; look it up.) If it's due to something like alcoholism then there's no infectious agent that could be spread.

You can only catch Hep C from a person with cirrhosis, if the cirrhosis was caused by Hep C, or the person has contracted it since.

Only if it is Hep A. It also depends what caused the cirrohsis. Many get it from alcoholism & Hep C. You can only contract Hep C through blood.
