Yes it´s possible, there´s a lot of people now a days that destroy their cards when they leave the hotel why´s that ? because when they´re giving you the card they´re actually putting all your data ( name, credit card number, basically all the data that you gave them ) in it I don´t know if you have notice, it works like a usb or a hard drive, some hotels have make big scams with that.

Yes. I saw a news report on this while watching CNN. It is not the standard practice for hotels to put the info on it but some do.
The information is stored on the card and when you turn them in to the front desk your info remains on it until the card is re-programed. Which means your are at risk for identity theft long after you leave the hotel. The news reporter said that it is a good idea to take them with you when you leave.

Hotel key, no.

Those who think your credit information is stored on a hotel key, read this:

Seapass card (on a cruise), yes. It is connected to the credit card you checked in with.

In these cases, get a Visa TravelMoney card. It is not connected to your bank account and is replaceable if stolen or lost. (don't get the american express travelers card, i hated dealing with it)

No way, a hotel would never jeopardize their customer's integrity of their financial affairs on card that can be lost so easily.

There would be no value to a hotel doing this even if it was possible, because they take your credit card imprint at the desk.

your wife is dumb. The only thing stored on the hotel key is the room code. Although, the hotel computer has your credit card number so you could use your room key to buy things from a vending machine or gift shop. But it would just be charged to your room. Not your credit card.

I don't think so, they're way to easy to lose, nobody would put all of your credit card info in a key card.

No, it isn't. That's just a rumor someone started and it won't die out.
