I don't think so. I had knee surgery and during therapy I was doing squats.

I doubt it. However, staying in one position for too long can be bad. So if you were to squat and stay like that for several hours, yes, it can be uncomfortable.

But since there are very few activities that require you to squat for several hours, I think you'll be OK.

of course, but its bad only if you use a bad technique. you should ask your coach or trainer or anyone who knows what there doing to tell you. Some things should follow are always look up, kept your back straight use a belt if there is one, don't use too much weight at first get down the technique, point your feet straight and shoulder width apart and you should do fine.

not if you are doing it wright - put weight on your heels not front of the feet.
