In response to a question regarding atheists praying, she said "No atheist can say the Bible contradicts itself after you've rallied to support your fellow atheist" What does this MEAN? Seriously? I'm at a loss here. I find the Bible contradicts itself because I have taken the time to read it over years. Even if it didn't, the people who worship contradict it by failing to actually read the original texts and adding their own wording in for thousands of years. Also, it is without a doubt the most ill-perceived and misinterpreted novel on the planet, at least by those who utilize it to prove the existence of a God. When someone feels justified in something, they say it's literal. When they don't, they say it's a metaphor about reality. When they want to excuse their intolerance and hatred, they say things like "fornicator" is the same as "homosexual". I ask you, why does this happen?

I think it boils down to this:

People should say what they mean and mean what they say.

Instead many will just say what they think...without thinking about what they say.

I'm sorry you see it that way. The Bible never contradicts itself it's only our mininterpretations that make it appear to be contradictory.

Yes, people contradict each other and use passages from the Bible to justify beliefs...even wrong ones. But this does not in any way take away from the truth's of God or the word of God.

I have found no contradictions in the Bible. Of course I don't just read the Bible. When i find something that seems to be a contradiction I do a lot of research on it until i found out the truth. And then no more contradiction.

fornicator is one who has sex outside of marriage.
God defines marriage between a man and a woman.
Thus, even homosexuality is fornication but alos, God calls it an abomination. It goes against God's design of procreation.
Jesus also made reference when He gave parables - "Those who have ears, let them hear."
Jesus almost always spoke to the thoughts and intentions of the heart to those who listened to Him speak. Many went away, knowing their heart was being exposed to the Truth and what He stood for, while the minority stayed and witnessed the claims and cleansing if His words.
Supernatural thinking is impossible to understand through natural means. This is why the Holy Spirit is essential to reading the Bible. He gives understanding and conviction to the reading of the Bible. Without Him, the Bible appears fruitless and without foundation.

"No atheist can say the Bible contradicts itself after you've rallied to support your fellow atheist"

As a Christian I can tell you that statement makes no real sense.

I think you were speaking to a moron when the quoted debate occurred.

You are attempting to present a rational question to people who, by definition, are incapable of participating in a rational discussion. Christian beliefs are not dependent on reason or proof. You're wasting your time arguing with devout Christians, you might as well try and teach card tricks to your golden retriever.
For the record, I pray, daily, to a wall-sized poster of Kylie Minogue ('Confide In Me' era, when she had fantastic red hair).
"For no man is lost, that accepts the glory of Kylie into his heart."

Your aren't supposed to use logic and reasoning when reading the bible... it is supposed to be read with blind faith and all contradictions are to be rationalized as being your misinterpretations and not really contradictions.
