If you mean the King James, the answer is no. There are 12 chapters in each:

That being said, I saw what your wrote in response to http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Avzwt9JRYDoqQ8gsArrzAlnsy6IX?qid=20070414110443AAc6OaO
You are confusing Ecclesiastes with Ecclesiasticus (also known as Sirach). Here is the KJV translation of Ecclesiasticus: http://www.biblicalproportions.com/modules/ol_bible/King_James_Bible/Ecclesiasticus/
If you read chapter 22, you will see that thariq_s2004 seriously misrepresented what it actually says:

False! The Douay-Rheims predates the KJV.

Pastor Billy says: NO Catholic bibles all have 12 chapters for the book of Ecclesiastes. (Ecclesiasticus cath.) Many of those responding are confusing bible editions with one book of the bible, with the exception of Meg who does know her bible.

Meg is 100% correct when explaining Catholics were using a English translation (Douay Rheims edition) before the King James bible had been completed by Protestants.

Contrary to what some responding would like you to believe no pope or the Catholic Church has ever prohibited or forbidden anyone from reading the bible. What the Church has done is to instruct the faithful not to read heretical texts which lead to confusion on what the Christian faith is or how it is practiced. There have been written bibles which aren't Christian in origin because of certain missing text and/or a transliteration used to deny what always was believed through the interpretation of it.

King James is a translation. The Catholic Bible has a few more books and chapters than the Protestant Bible.

No, it has 12.
You can read the New American Bible, the translation used in liturgies in the Catholic Church in the US at http://www.usccb.org/nab/bible/

There is no St. James Bible. The version you would seem to be referring to is the King James or Authorised Standard Version, a translation into 17th-century English made under the patronage of King James the Sixth of Scotland and First of England.

The scholars who did that translation went to the earliest Greek and Hebrew and Aramaic texts of the Bible that they could find, and rendered them into the English current in their time.

At the time, the Roman Church forbade using anything but the Vulgate Latin version made by St. Jerome; the King James version was made for the English and Scottish Protestants. There is now a version of the Bible in English for Catholics, it is if I remember correctly a translation from the Latin, not directly from the Greek etc.

I believe you. The King James version is the terrific version, and the only one i exploit. I used to apply the NIV til i all started going to autonomous basic Baptist churchs. IFBCs have books and sermons on why KJV is the terrific and only bible. one in all your posters pronounced that the NIV isn't full of blunders and the declare that verses are ignored isn't genuine. nicely it rather is genuine. start up with the verses you recognize John 3:sixteen, Eph 2:8, Psalm 23. evaluate the two. Verses at the instant are not the comparable, merely one in all them would be precise, we are speaking approximately eternal life is often everywhere you finally end up. to no longer be taken gently. you are able to ask your husband if he knows that the NIV isn't the terrific achievable bible, then a million. why is he nonetheless analyzing it. 2. his analyzing this is going to impression the youngsters, as he's the top of the family contributors. he desires to take his place greater heavily. I did to, so i understand what i'm taking approximately. in all risk swap to a IFB church, look up IFB one thousand on the cyber web, and others to discover the closest church to you, bear in mind the closest won't be the terrific, verify it out. possibly say you at the instant are not chuffed with the church you at the instant are. they do no longer use the KJV What i admire approximately IFB church homes is they propose what they pontificate and that they pontificate out of the bible. The pastor, if he's a physically powerful one will inspire you to tell him if he's incorrect in doctrine in accordance to the bible. this ability you're reading your bible. IFB is the only church that I even have chanced on that does each little thing they say they might do. If the bible says to tithe, then tithe. if the bible says you need to fellowship with different christians then fellowship, if the bible says you need to pass win souls, then pass soul prevailing.

12 is 12, but there are MAJOR problems with the Catholic Bible. At one point the Bible was not allowed to be read by Pope Innocent III !!! Of course he was also the "Bloodiest" of all Popes as well. I would strongly suggest reading a good History of the Church especially if U like Horror Stories! The Catholic Church has, as another Post stated, twisted Scripture to meet their needs under "Papal Infalibility" self proclaimed by Pope Innocent III, who else!!! LOL John

Even I know that Catholics use the Vulgate edition and the Protestants the King James edition. As for the differences between them, I couldn't care less.

It's the "king james". Yes it does differ. The Catholics have added 7 more books called the apocrypha.

They did it to justify purgatory and make cash from "indulgences".

The Jews have never added these books to their writings and this is where Protestants and catholics get our scripts from.
